MY YANKEE CANDLE DIARY – PINK HIBISCUS, GARDEN TIME, FLUFFY TOWELS, HONEY BLOSSOM and more W/E 30th March

Spring has well and truly arrived in England, particularly in the south with temperatures around double their seasonal average. Doesn’t mean there wasn’t a couple of chilly nights last week, so had the chance to enjoy a good mix of cheerful, bright fragrances, with one or two also for the colder nights!

I used a Honey Blossom votive for the first time ever, having never had this fragrance before. It’s a nice floral laced with spoonfuls of honey, so easy to see why it’s so popular.

A lovely remembrance of winter with Mandarin Cranberry. Its warming mandarin notes dashed with cranberry can be enjoyed on a colder night at any time of year.

A Sweet Strawberry tart was also my first time ever trying this fragrance. It really is straight ahead and full on sweetened strawberries. Very apt for the spring and summer.

Vanilla Satin wrapped its enveloping notes around us for Friday night, this scent returning in 2014 will always add a touch of elegance to your surroundings.

Brightening up Saturday morning was Fluffy Towels, my favourite of the ‘clean’ type fragrances. Literally smelling like freshly laundered, warmed towels with a dash of lemon – it’s the perfect kickstart to a couple of days away from work.

White Gardenia took us through the afternoon. I love it even more with every use. In my opinion the best of the currently available florals – simply divine!

Pink Hibiscus had another burn Saturday night and this new fragrance for 2014 is a definite winner. The fruitiest floral ever made, it’s a lot of fun and a joy to burn.

Into Sunday and Garden Time took us through the day. I’m really enjoying the Dream Garden range the more I get into it and for me, Garden Time is the best of the bunch. It’s a soft, slightly sweet herb fragrance so very different from the usual Yankee Candle scents. It is highly recommended as a conservatory or garden room fragrance – it really does bring the aromas of a gentle herb garden indoors.

And finally to close off the week, time to crack open a new jar of True Rose. Perfect for any time of year, this classic Yankee fragrance perfectly captures the scent of red roses. Beautiful!
