MY YANKEE CANDLE WEEK : BEACH HOLIDAY, WILD SEA GRASS, FRANKINCENSE, BEACH WOOD, WHITE GARDENIA and more (we 9th Aug)

Feelin’ too hot-hot -hot! Ah well, at least I have Yankee Candles to help me get through summer.

And this is with apologies to people in other parts of the UK who I know have been craving the pretty much endless summer we’ve been having in the south!

Anyway, White Gardenia kicked off the burning week with its lovely sharp gardenia notes. One of my very favourite Yankee florals.

There was some light rain on Wednesday so Meadow Showers had an outing. Such a lovely fresh mixed with green scent.

This was followed also on Wednesday by Country Heather, which complements Meadow Showers nicely. Country Heather is a fairly strong floral that indeed whisks you off to heather clad windswept hills.

Wild Sea Grass was next and I like this scent more and more. It is so authentic, a rich grassy aroma bringing to you the atmosphere of sand dune grass.

Kilimanjaro Stars I’m still getting to grips with, each time I pick up something different. It definitely has that cool element found in Yankee’s Evening Air blended with an assortment of other wonderful notes. When I get around to the large jar I am sure it will be an even bigger treat.

Pink Sands is always a comforting fragrance for summer evenings – it’s beautiful.

Midsummer’s Night kicked off my weekend (along with some Judas Priest!)

Sun & Sand brought a beachy feel to Saturday morning as the temperature began to climb.

Fresh Cut Roses followed with its elegant youthful rose feel and it was also wonderfully cooling during the hot day.

Frankincense is so wonderful and was an easy choice for Saturday night. In your imagination you are transported to exotic foreign bazaars and it has such a rich and incense-y type aroma.

Sparkling Lemon gave a fizzy cooling citrus start to Sunday.

Beach Holiday followed – this has a bit of everything Yankee Candle beach related thrown in. You can pick out Turquoise Sky, Beach Walk, Ocean Blossom etc – it has the lot!

And finally Beach Wood brought the burning week to a close. The oily perfume richness of Beach Wood this time was pretty strong. It has been variable in strength in the past, but one thing that can’t be denied is the wonderful unique aroma of this candle.

....And no sleep after Beach Wood on what must have been the hottest most humid night of the year, so not firing on all cylinders today. I will definitely need a revitalising Yankee Candle scent when I get home today – my scent thinking cap is on already!
