Even though it’s only been a few weeks, it seems an age
since the last Yankee Candle TV shows on shopping channel QVC. But things were
back yesterday with a vengeance with Brand Ambassador Rosa Smith steering the
audience through no less than 3 live shows.
First up with QVC host Simon Biagi, Rosa took us through
many products that were to reappear during the day. Highlight was undoubtedly
the USA import LAVENDER, available as a 2 large jar set – a candle that is
unavailable anywhere else in the UK. Rosa and Simon described this as being
very different to the popular FRENCH LAVENDER Yankee fragrance, as it is a
purer blend and much more like the pure smell of a late at night English
Lavender.
QVC's exclusive Lavender set
A two rose collection was launched featuring perennial
favourites TRUE ROSE and FRESH CUT ROSES. Rosa mentioned the delights of TRUE
ROSE evoking thoughts of that ‘velvety classic red rose’.
Another lovely set featured 2 jars of MIDNIGHT JASMINE and
one of MIDSUMMER’S NIGHT. Rosa described MIDNIGHT JASMINE as being reminiscent
of a night-time deeper fragrance that you wouldn’t necessarily get during the
day.
The 3 jar ‘Tea Party’ set was also covered featuring RED
VELVET, HONEY AND SPICE and CAMOMILE TEA. Of the latter (a new personal
favourite of mine) Rosa said it was ‘refreshing and revitalising’ and it was one
that while pottering about in the morning will help you get ready for the day ahead.

Onto the second show and we always have to pick a best one
of the day and this was it – with QVC regular Dale Franklin co-hosting (along
with a rather lively shirt!)
Introduced this time around were a tea light set with two
elegant stem glass holders and also a Hurricane Vase set complete with a large jar
of WARM SPICE. Rosa commented on the magical effect of the candle flickering in
the glass of the vase and noted that it could be used indoors or outdoors. Dale
commented that perhaps the vases were hand painted as the designs on each were
slightly different. WARM SPICE itself was described as a gentle spice for
evening being luxurious and comforting.
A summery 2 jar set of TURQUOISE SKY and GARDEN HIDEAWAY was
featured with Rosa describing TURQUOISE SKY as bringing thoughts of ‘lying on a
boat with your fingers in the water and the smell of sweet flowers in the
background’. Ahh dream away!
MIDSUMMER’S NIGHT and BLACK COCONUT were brought in as a
large jar collection with just 9p postage (to celebrate 9 years of Yankee
Candle on QVC) but this set unsurprisingly sold out quickly!
And finally onto the late night show with QVC host Jilly
Halliday. An unusual grouping of Yankee Candles featured in this show as two
sets of 3 Celebration Tumblers were offered with some unusual fragrances –
Vineyard, Sheer Gardenia and White Chocolate And Mint.
One option from the Celebrations set...
There was also a great one time only offer featuring 18
popular melts with some unscented tea lights thrown in, as well as some other
melt combinations.
Always great to get a phone caller onto the show and Helen
talked about how she’d converted her family to being Yankee fans and that her
personal favourite candle was WHITE GARDENIA.
4 medium jars were introduced from the Fresh range with the
popular CLEAN COTTON, BABY POWDER, SOFT BLANKET and FLUFFY TOWELS fragrances.
Rosa mentioned CLEAN COTTON’s fresh linen notes, while BABY POWDER was
described as a ‘snuggle’ fragrance and FLUFFY TOWELS as ‘lemony fresh’.
And finally a highlight for me was the large jar with
accessories set. Either WARM SPICE or SNOW IN LOVE complete with an illuma lid
and snuffer! SNOW IN LOVE was mentioned as having a peppery freshness that
could be enjoyed all year round.
So three more fab shows bringing great entertainment and
value to Yankee fans. It was great to see 3 QVC hosts who all obviously
genuinely enjoyed Yankee Candles. Oh and didn’t we just love Rosa singing the
Milk Tray tune!!!
Coming soon ...
Yankee Candle is back on QVC with Steven Corfield this Saturday at 3pm and 11pm - my review will be posted on Sunday.
Then I'll be offline for a week or so... but then will be back with more YC blogging!
