YANKEE CANDLE BURN REVIEW – VANILLA CHAI, STRAWBERRY BUTTERCREAM + MORE (With Photos)

Another week of even hotter weather so a definite continuation of summer candles was going to happen without question!

After picking STRAWBERRY BUTTERCREAM as a recent Yankee Candle Of The Day (Link Here), I wondered why I hadn’t used it. So I put that right almost immediately. STRAWBERRY BUTTERCREAM does what it says on the jar. It’s cakey, it’s sweet, it’s delicious.

VANILLA LIME always works to cool the air on a hot night. Fast becoming one of my favourite fragrances with its creaminess mixed with tart lime.

A couple of lovely melts used once again. PINK LADY SLIPPER is so unique in the florals – I ran straight out and bought a large jar as it is retiring this year  and the already retired LAVENDER VANILLA is probably one of the best Vanillas Yankee Candle ever released.

SICILIAN LEMON (MEYER LEMON to our friends in the USA), I have to say wasn’t that impressive on first burn. I’ve got a small jar to try but despite a couple of uses there isn’t a great deal scent even very close to the candle. SICILIAN LEMON definitely goes into the category of room atmosphere changers rather than being a candle you can pick up in the room. As I’ve mentioned before, if you walk into the room from another you can pick up faint notes and a different ambience to the room, but don’t expect to be overwhelmed by this candle in terms of fragrance. Now I know what to expect I can probably enjoy it more, but I can’t hide feeling some disappointment.

Friday and Sunday night saw a double dose of SUN AND SAND for the first time and wow – what a candle! I don’t know how Yankee have done it with this one but it is exactly like being on a sandy beach on a very hot day. You can actually smell the hot sand, it’s unbelievable!

CAMOMILE TEA is so lovely first thing in the morning. My wife and I have become big fans of this candle as has our close Yankee Candle friend. I couldn’t be without it now. Its lovely sweet honeyish flavour is a perfect pick you up in the morning and it would also be a perfect accompaniment to a cream tea or quaint tea party.

Another hot afternoon, another lovely burn for the simple fragrance of the MELON & LIME COOL POPS. A very attractive look when you get a good pooling of melted wax.

Finally, highlight of the week. A new candle I love even more than any of those I have listed above. It is one of the new Q3 fragrances which was used for a first burn on Saturday night. It is the utterly divine VANILLA CHAI. From the moment I first sniffed it, the heady spices took over my senses and I always knew this would have to go with an exotic meal night. And boy did it! As a prelude to dinner, VANILLA CHAI whisks you off to a Moroccan spice market and bazaar. It’s like walking into a beautiful Indian restaurant with all of the cooking aromas saturating your senses. So rich, so spicy and so different to any other Yankee Candle. Vanilla lovers may be a tad disappointed (if it is in there, it is buried very deep) but don’t fret. Instead expect to be whisked off on the most pungent and realistic Yankee Candle fantasy ever. VANILLA CHAI is absolutely one of my very favourite fragrances produced by Yankee Candle – ever.
