YANKEE CANDLE HINTS AND TIPS : GETTING MORE SCENT FROM A SAMPLER

If you’ve purchased Yankee Candle Samplers (Votives) you’ll be aware I’m sure that the throw of scent from the candle is nothing like you’d get from a jar.

The samplers are made to give you an inexpensive way of trying and enjoying Yankee Candle and they will usually give you scent that will fill your personal space, but don’t expect them to fill a medium to large room with scent.

However, some samplers are stronger than others and those that are strong will give a great scent into your room. Halloween scents Witches Brew and Candy Corn work particularly well as samplers as do some of the stronger Christmas scents.

But sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you can’t get much scent if any from some samplers. Particularly if they’ve sat in a shop or your house for a while, they don’t seem to last (scent wise) quite as long as the jars.

So here’s a tip – but please take care!

If you have a sampler that you don’t seem to be getting any scent from after repeated use, you can (with care) use it in your melt warmer.

Step 1 – Carefully cut your sampler into two or three pieces.

Step 2 – Remove the wick and wick base. This usually will come out as a whole piece.

Step 3 – Put one piece of the sampler wax in the melt warmer (do not use more than 1/3 of a full size sampler to ensure your warmer can cope with the amount of melting wax)

Step 4 – Enjoy some scent from your sampler that you thought had none!

We’ve done this time and again with the weaker samplers and it has always worked. You may only get a couple of tea light burns before the scent diminishes as it is different to melt wax, but should still be around 4 hours per sampler portion.
