I know this
sounds a bit daft, but being able to write articles and wax lyrical about
Yankee Candles is such fun and a great privilege. It is a real thrill that so
many people are now reading this blog from around the world. The blog is now
getting on average 250-500 page reads per day with 45% of the audience from the
UK, 35% from the USA, about 15% from France and Germany and others from all
over the world. Please come and say hello either by leaving a comment on the
blog or by liking and posting on the recently added Facebook page HERE.

Yankee
Candle Brand Ambassador and Yankee Store owner Steven Corfield often says he is
living the dream on QVC as he opens his shop every day – and well I feel I am
in my own small way, even though I’ve only been involved in the Yankee Candle
hobby since the beginning of the year.
I have
learned so much since then (more than I ever thought there was to know) but you
still find out something new about Yankee Candle every week. For example it was
only in the past month or so that I found out that we have 3 exclusive
fragrances in Europe – Camomile Tea, Blissful Autumn and Sandalwood Vanilla. A
slight tonic for Yankee fans in the UK who are often upset at the plethora of
additional fragrances available in the USA.
The good
news is that Yankee Candle Europe and home shopping channel QVC seem to be
listening and more and more USA only fragrances are being imported and offered
for sale via their own websites in the UK.
Twitter is a
lot of fun and there are some great people in the #yankeearmy – it is such a
delight to see everyone’s latest purchases, read about their bargain finds and
just to chat about Yankee Candles with others who share the passion.
I’m lucky at
home in that my wife is just as passionate about Yankee Candles as I am (in
fact she started it and tried to talk me into them for years) and we have a
good friend locally who is at least as mad about YCs as we are – possibly even
more so!
Fortunately I
have time to be able to dedicate to building articles and content on this blog.
It does takes a lot of work and discipline, but I can honestly say I have
enjoyed every minute of it so far! Hopefully I will continue for a long time to
come as my last web endeavour lasted six and a half years – I’m not going
anywhere for a while yet!
Our
collection has grown to 89 different large and medium jars fragrances and in
total we have 124 different Yankee Candle scents in the variety of formats. Our
latest purchase is Treehouse Memories, one of the jars brought to the UK by
Yankee Candle Europe and available from the official website.
I (we)
believe in burning all of our candles at some point. We have so many now that
if we use them in rotation we should get a few years out of each. So nothing is
off limits for burning and enjoying – life seems too short! I’ve always
believed in using stuff I collect so the shrink wrap and boxes always come off
things others leave intact. So yes – even my large jars of Grapevine and Oak,
Tutti Frutti and Sage and Citrus will get used at some point!
I do hope
you enjoy some of the daft stuff I write on here. Some is planned a few days in
advance, but often it is just what I feel like writing about on the day, like
today. I would also love to hear any suggestions for articles, again please
post on my Twitter or on the Facebook page.
Enjoy your
candles and we’re all living the dream loving the fantastic world of Yankee
Candle!
