A chance to
mix the scents around again this week, as the warm weather disappeared and grey
skies and rain put a dampener for some on spring. Not for me though, I love a
bit of weather plus it gives a chance to switch the Yankee Candles around a bit
too!
So starting
the week with warmer tones and a melt of Dune Grass and then it was a rare burn
for Tropical Fruit. It’s a lovely sweet blend of ripened fruit and great for
any time of year.
On to
Sicilian Lemon which I like more and more. I just love the sharp lemon tones in
this scent which are so different from Yankee’s other lemony fragrances.
Sicilian Lemon is only slightly sweet and has an almost a bitter tang to it. It’s
like picking a lemon from a tree in the wild mediterranean countryside and breathing
in the tangy loveliness.
Midnight
Jasmine has a bit of a brooding quality to it, despite it being a lovely
floral. I mean that in a very positive way. We often use it to enhance a spooky
movie and on Friday night it was used to accompany a loud rock concert on my
home cinema screen.
Into the
weekend and Twitter followers will know of my Mountain Lodge disaster. It all
started so well before the wick burned away and all but disappeared! Yankee
Candle’s fantastic customer service soon sorted things out for me though.
Better luck next time! The good thing is despite the small wax pool the scent
was absolutely incredible.
A Saturday
night treat was Pink Dragon Fruit. Always a great party candle Pink Dragon Fruit’s
bubbly, fruity notes always create a
cheerful atmosphere.
Into the
grey day of Sunday and Willow Breeze was the perfect way to kick things off.
This fragrance really works well with an atmospheric weather day.
And to close
things off Blissful Autumn, which despite its name is a great all year round
fragrance, particularly if you are looking for something that is gently
warming. It’s soft vanilla fruity tones were perfect for a chilly evening.
