Welcome to another detailed review of the Today’s Special
Value product from QVC – and it’s Yankee Candle!
Over the next 24 hours, Yankee Candle Brand Ambassador Rosa
Speyer will be presenting a new Yankee Candle TSV product on air, accompanied
by the regular QVC co-presenters. Lots of other Yankee goodies will be on offer
too – including one item specifically designed to match the TSV (more on that
in a bit). How exciting!
I’ve managed to get thoughts from both Rosa and her Yankee
Candle QVC colleague Steven Corfield too on the TSV fragrances – so read on….
I’ve been bursting at the seams to tell everyone about this
fab product and now I can happily reveal all in this blog which is designed to
accompany the shows over the next 24 hours. Keep your eyes peeled over the next
few days as I’ll be doing a wrap up review of the day too.
Well – wow! This is one of the most exciting things ever
brought to QVC in my opinion. It is an electric Teapot style melt warmer and 18
jar shaped melts – and there’s an auto delivery option too (more on that
later).
The jar shaped melts have only previously been available in
the USA and they have a special Teflon coating which makes it easier to pop
them out of a melt warmer. The jar melts are brought to QVC in the UK in
limited quantities – it is likely to be a one off, they probably won’t be available again!
Let’s take a closer look, firstly at the melt warmer.
The teapot design is absolutely beautiful. It is very
elegant and well made and would look lovely in any dining room, hallway or
kitchen. Also as it is electric, it is ideal for travelling. Why not take it on
holiday to a hotel? That’s where I first tried it out.
The teapot simply plugs into the wall and slowly melts your
jar melt. The scent that is produced is astounding! I was in a very large hotel
room and I melted Lemon Lavender. The room still smelled of it the next morning
and into the following afternoon – it really added something to my short
holiday.
Let’s talk about the fragrances. With the TSV you get 2 of
each of these jar melts :
Vanilla Cupcake – A deliciously cakey style vanilla
fragrance. Perfect for a kitchen or to warm up a cooler night
Macintosh – A lovely bright apple fragrance, almost as if
the apples are touched with rainwater. This fragrance is long retired in the UK
/ only available in the USA.
Midnight Jasmine – One of the most popular and lovely
florals in the whole Yankee Candle range. The strong summer evening smell of
jasmine
Meadow Showers – Another USA only fragrance, Meadow Showers
captures the scent of a dew drenched garden
Lavender Vanilla – Long retired in the UK and available in
the USA only, this is one of my very favourite Yankee scents. The strong floral
Lavender is softened and sweetened by delicious vanilla. Heaven in a fragrance
Farmer’s Market – Again a USA only/retired from the UK
treat, Farmer’s Market is like a beautiful rich medley of ripened fruit with a
light dusting of spice. Absolutely delicious and another that will add a touch
of warmth to the evenings.
Home Sweet Home – The perfect sit down and relax fragrance,
Home Sweet Home is a cinnamon treat.
Buttercream – Another USA exclusive, Buttercream is a rich,
creamy vanilla blend and very indulgent.
Lemon Lavender – A Yankee legend, the unique lemon and
lavender blend brings a sharp and cleansing, yet welcoming feel to wherever it
is used.
Rosa had this to say about the TSV : “I'm super excited about the TSV and have had my teapot on loads. There
is definitely a clear distinction in our house between my favourites (florals )
and my husband Ed’s (foods). It’s been
heavenly being able to enjoy one of my favourite treasure fragrances -Lavender
Vanilla, but I am also loving the sweet but outdoorsy freshness of meadow
showers and the mouthwatering Macintosh.”
I’m personally now a big convert to electric melt warmers.
This one is only 18w which means it uses a very little amount of electricity –
so it is very economical to use. To reiterate, it is beautifully made and very
attractive, so it will add something to any room it is used in. The best thing
of all I find though is that you get an even fragrance all the while it is on.
With the tea light powered melt warmers you have parts of the melt wax
solidifying and melting at different times – with this electric warmer you get
100% full on melted fragrance for the whole use (after the initial melting of
course).
And the jar melts really do just pop out of the warmer. The
Teflon coating makes all the difference. When the wax has cooled simply press
gently near the edge with your finger – and the whole wax block just pops out
of the warmer. A real added bonus for these jar style melts.
Also on offer from QVC today as part of the TSV is an auto
delivery option for two further jar melt shipments. In the first of these
during the summer will be 2 of each
- Bahama Breeze, Beach Walk, Sun &
Sand, Pineapple Cilantro, Pink Sands, Lavender Vanilla, Midnight Jasmine, Lemon
Lavender and Meadow Showers. Then following this for the autumn/winter will
again be 2 of each – Spiced Pumpkin, Harvest, Balsam & Cedar, Home Sweet
Home, Cherries On Snow, Sage & Citrus, Autumn Leaves, Red Apple Wreath and
Macintosh. Some really unsual USA only and retired fragrances in those auto
deliveries! Seriously worth considering this to add to your initial purchase as
I mentioned earlier, the likelihood is that this is a one off ever availability
of jar shaped melts on QVC and they are pretty rare and collectable.
Here’s Steven Corfield’s favourite pick from the initial
selection of jar melts included with the TSV : “Buttercream is by far my favourite as it was one of the early
fragrances I used to burn years ago! I think it's a fragrance that I never tire of. The subtle sweetness makes
me feel like I'm in a cake factory, as
it's so true to life!”
Steven also sent me a photo of his first use of the warmer,
melting Meadow Showers!
And of this fragrance he said, “Meadow Showers is dewey… thought provoking… school days! It’s complete
nostalgia.”
..And that isn’t all! Being brought to QVC today to
accompany the TSV product is a matching cup and saucer votive holder set with
12 votives. In this selection you get two votive holders in a cup and saucer
style as shown below with a selection of votive candles (two of each of Vanilla
Cupcake, Strawberry Buttercream, Salted Caramel, Vanilla Chai, Camomile Tea and
Honey &Spice). A really great choice of fragrances there which all bring to
mind thoughts of tea and cakes!
Today’s shows are at 12am (launch show repeated at 4am and
8am) with further live shows at 12pm, 3pm, 7pm and 11pm.
