Another week
flies by and with a few days away on a short break too I find myself back at
the Yankee Candle diary desk again already!
Before I
start, next Saturday sees me hosting a special gathering of Yankee Candle fans
at my house (hopefully in the garden – but the forecast is looking a bit ‘iffy’
L). I’m really excited
about this and the party also coincides with the 10th anniversary of
Yankee Candle on home shopping channel QVC and I think they’ve lots of exciting
stuff planned!
I’m really
looking forward to meeting many of the original Yankee Army fan members plus
some newer faces and once again seeing
Mr Yankee Candle himself – Brand Ambassador Steven Corfield.
I hope it
will be a great day of Yankee Candle chat and laughs and please stay away
rainclouds!!!
Anyway onto
my burning fun from last week….
A melt of
Buttercream last Monday already seems like 100 years ago, so swiftly on to
Tuesday evening and finishing work after a very short week.
I celebrated
with a burn of the lovely youthful, fruity tones of Pink Dragon Fruit. It’s
great, but I’m starting to think that the new floral twist of this fragrance (Pink
Hibiscus) has a little more going for it. However Pink Dragon Fruit is still
nice in itself and a lot of fun.
A melt of
super delicious Lavender Vanilla then filled the house before our trip away.
All too soon
it was welcome home again and nothing says welcome home quite like Lemon
Lavender. It freshens up the atmosphere like no other Yankee Candle.
Early
Sunrise was a treat for an early get up on Saturday along with a chance for me
to catch up with 8 World Cup games back to back (on fast forward). Early
Sunrise has beautiful morning fresh lemony notes which make it the perfect
early start candle.
Into the
afternoon with the delicious, warming notes of French Lavender. I think it is
only when you smell a more straight ahead lavender fragrance (such as ‘Blue
Lavender’ from the Garden Time range) that you can truly then appreciate the
oily, rich, luxuriousness of French Lavender.
Saturday
night saw my debut burn of Citrus Tango. This one was a big hit and quite a
unique fragrance for a citrus type candle. Unlike its cold smell of grapefruit,
soft orangey notes came to the fore on burning. Although it seemed light to
start with the scent soon filled the downstairs of the house and it was still
lingering the next morning. A beautiful, soft, mixed citrus scent and a real
winner in our household.
Garden
Hideaway is still the perfect mixed grassy floral accompaniment for a warm day
sitting back and looking at flowers on a weekend day off.
Finally to
wrap up the weekend, a touch of the classy True Rose. Its distinctive red rose
scent make it very unique and timeless.
