MY YANKEE CANDLE DIARY – MARGARITA TIME, SWEET HONEYSUCKLE, SICILIAN LEMON & More (w.e. 1st June 2014)

Another changeable week with sunshine and rain – I wouldn’t have it any other way!

A public holiday kicked off the week and it was a lovely, rainy spring day on Monday. River Valley was used to enhance the atmosphere and that it certainly did. Going from my house into the garden, River Valley is actually spot on in terms of fragrance. It is quite incredible, the scent is like a slightly enhanced warm, rainy day. It remains one of my favourite candles to burn in wet weather.

Vanilla Lime then warmed things up for the evening with its unique blend and back to work L

Into the week and Sicilian Lemon gave a lovely, cheery Mediterranean atmosphere in the house.

This was followed by a melt of Cherry Blossom in the electric teapot melt warmer (still available from QVC). Sort of a farewell to spring for me and the last use of this particular tart. I’m also pleased to report that the Cherry Blossom melt popped out of the electric warmer as easily as the jar shaped melts. A simple press towards the side of the wax – and out it popped!

Warm Spice brought some comfort on a chilly Friday night and then ….

…warm weather returned on Saturday, so White Gardenia kicked things off.  A lovely crisp morning fragrance.

This was followed by  a melt of Sweet Honeysuckle (again in the electric warmer). This worked so much better than the votive I tried a few weeks ago. Sweet Honeysuckle is a delectable fragrance, full of sweetness, a hint of creaminess and a touch of floral.

Saturday night saw a first ever burn for Margarita Time. It is similar to the Wild Passion Fruit fragrance but a touch sweeter and without the peppery notes of Wild Passion Fruit. Margarita Time had a good throw and its sweet, limey notes were very pleasant.

Sunday kicked off with the pure lavender notes of Blue Lavender from the Garden Time range and we closed things down with a double movie bill in my home cinema room and Lovely Kiku’s sweet, powdery floral notes were a nice accompaniment.
