MY YANKEE CANDLE DIARY – GINGER DUSK, BEACH FLOWERS, CITRUS TANGO, MIDSUMMER’S NIGHT and more! w/e 27th July

No let up from the hot weather this week with soaring temperatures. So it was up to Yankee Candle to help complement the weather and sooth away the hottest excesses!

We started the week with Sicilian Lemon and its subtle, slightly tart lemon notes.

Tuesday sprang to life with the lovely Citrus Tango. This new limited edition scent for the summer is full of zest and quite a complex fragrance. Different notes hit you at different times – whether its grapefruit, orange or whatever else is in there. So popular in our house, we’ve bought another one already!

Vanilla Lime helps cool off the heat and is always a pleasure to burn. A sophisticated, icy sweet lime scent.

Beach Flowers whisks you off to a highly scented floral garden at the seaside. Its sharp, powdery scent is always a delight.

In to Friday and what a way to start the weekend with the lovely, crisp White Gardenia. This is an all year round floral for me and one of my very favourites.

A melt of Star Fruit and Orange kicked off Saturday followed by a lovely trio of scents in the evening.

In our main room and star of the show, the heaven of Midsummer’s Night. Its bold, mysterious notes enhance the warm nights and I love it to death! In the kitchen we were melting Tutti Frutti, its lovely candy like notes then melding with Midsummer Night’s brusqueness in the hallway! And finally in the cloakroom the perfect bright floral scent of Garden Sweet Pea.

Sunday saw a pleasant start to the day with Early Sunrise and its ‘gently wake you up’ lemony notes.

This was followed in the afternoon with Sun & Sand which whisks you right off to the beach.

To wrap things up for the weekend one of the new ‘Indian  Summer’ scents Ginger Dusk. This one was a favourite from the very first sniff. It is a real delight. The ginger is in there but it is not harsh like in Vanilla Chai or Gingerbread. It has a sweet lemon blend which softens the spice and a depth of creaminess too. A new favourite to burn as the sun goes down.

And finally, our guest appearance of the week from the Team Yankee Global Facebook page is this lovely classic, Herbs & Blooms, burned by Deborah. She said it smells like Greenhouse but a little sweeter and perhaps a mix of Greenhouse with Loves Me Loves Me Not.
