the return of Fan Focus, which gives an insight into one of our lovely Team Yankee Global Facebook Group members. We have over 1,000 Yankee fanatics on
board and am pleased to start the relaunch of this feature on my blog, with one
of Team Yankee’s most active contributors – it’s Sarah!
Please tell
us a bit about you
My name is
Sarah, and I'm a manager for Sainsbury's. I live in Didcot in Oxfordshire with
my partner, my 7yr old son and my dog. I love reading, listening to music,
walking my dog and Yankee Candles obviously!
How did your
Yankee Candle obsession start and when?
I was first
introduced to Yankee Candles by my Mother in Law in 2005, who bought me a
Cherry Blossom Large Jar. I didn't really get 'in' to Yankee Candles properly
until this year, when I decided to start building up a small collection.
Can you tell
us a bit about your collection?
My
collection is currently 18 large jars, 3 medium jars, 10 small jars, a tumbler
and various melts and votives! I'm not big on accessories currently, I've got a
matching large plate and shade, a small shade and three illuma-lids. Oh and a
wick trimmer!
Are you a collector, a burner or both?
Currently
both. As my collection is still in its infancy, I am trying to collect some
treasures whilst not depriving myself of burning something! So I'm trying to
stick to burning multiples, small jars and melts wherever possible! I like to
switch scents throughout the day, which melts and small jars are perfect for.
What is your
favourite Yankee Candle and why?
Favourite...?
Too many! I think my all time favourites still have to be Cherry Blossom,
because it was my first, and French Lavender, because it suits any time of day
or night.
If you could
suggest one unmade scent to Yankee what would it be?
Mint Julep.
Sweet, minty and oaky.
Which Yankee
Candle do you wish was brought out of retirement?
The whole My
Favourite Things collection! I found Warm Woollen Mittens in a local shop recently,
and would love the rest of the collection. Unfortunately I'm not prepared to
pay the prices of the few that I have seen!
What was the
last candle you bought/ were given?
The last
candles I bought were Nature's Paintbrush Medium Jar and Warm Woollen Mittens
Large Jar. The last candles I was given were the ones I won from an online
competition!
