MY YANKEE CANDLE DIARY – ORCHARD PEAR, GHOSTLY TREATS, AMBER MOON, PINK SANDS and more (w.e. 26th October)

Just as you get settled in for the autumn, the warm weather returns once again! Not that many are complaining I am sure, but it doesn’t feel right walking around in a T-shirt in England at this time of year.

On to candles and a Creamy Caramel melt started the week. Similar to Salted Caramel but perhaps a touch sweeter, this has tempered down a bit after its first use and is now quite pleasant.

Do you ever get untidy candles? We do! What I mean by that is candles that don’t pool to the edge or you’ve had to fiddle with the wax and they are left ridged/bumpy. Well that was the excuse for giving Pink Sands a long burn on Tuesday. The scent is always lovely – soft, creamy and dreamy!

Into Wednesday and it was a burn for new autumn fragrance Amber Moon. A really lovely, warming, golden fragrance that really does bring to mind the gentle heat of an autumn sunset. Really like this one.

Warm Spice followed on Thursday and unusually it didn’t seem that strong this time around. Only got a tiny hint of its lovely, nutty sweet aroma.

Orchard Pear added to the autumnal feel on Friday evening. Deliciously strong, this Yankee Candle classic is like smelling a bowlful of lovely cooked sugared pears.

Up before the birds on Saturday so Early Sunrise seemed a great companion. Always enjoy its gentle fizzy lemoniness.

I watched a Western in the afternoon and Mountain Pine melts have become my movie viewing staple! Mountain Pine is a rich, deep, strong pine scent. Always reminds me of my days strolling through miles of isolated forests in Scotland.
A treat on Saturday night – a ghostly one at that! Yes, just a few days before Halloween we thought it was time to try out new Halloween scent Ghostly Treats. It’s a deliciously peppery marshmallow and looks beautiful burning in the stylish jar.

Waikiki Melon eased the house into Sunday with its exotic melon scent.

We had guests for my wife’s birthday on Sunday afternoon so we needed a strong candle to make itself known. The lovely sweet cinnamon of Stars & Stripes did the trick!

With the clocks going back in the early hours of Sunday, all of a sudden there was a lot more darkness around. Salted Caramel was delightful in bringing its cheery warmth to the long evening.
This week’s guest photo from a Team Yankee Global member is a lovely picture by Becky. Doesn’t this just make you feel warm and comfortable?
