MY YANKEE CANDLE DIARY : CRANBERRY PEAR, FRANKINCENSE, SAGE & CITRUS + more (we 25 Jan)

January rolls on and still without a candle theme in our house. Too early for spring, too late for festive – what to burn?!

Black Cherry to me is a real winter warmer and we started the week off with its lovely rich notes.

Blissful Autumn is another safe bet even though it is not (autumn, that is). Its soft blend of fruits touched off with a creamy finish make it a pleasure to burn throughout winter.

Home Sweet Home is just that! Warming, sweet cinnamon and a timeless Yankee Candle classic.

Sage & Citrus is always a luxurious treat. It doesn’t smell how you’d imagine being more like a high end aftershave.

On Saturday morning, I treated myself to a slow burn of Sicilian Lemon. A softer scent but when you do get a hit from it, there aren’t many better. It is like drifting off to wild lemon groves in Spain or Italy – it definitely has that exotic Mediterranean feel to it.

First ever burn of the brand new Frankincense scent on Saturday night. I reviewed this in an earlier video blog post. If in any doubt, it has a lovely but not overpowering incense type aroma.

Camomile Tea is always a lovely, gentle way to wake up on Sunday morning with its delicious honey tea notes.

Island Guava is an unusual scent and I enjoyed a melt of it. It is very much like the guava version of Wild Fig.

To finish off the week, Cranberry Pear, one of the limited release fragrances from the end of last year. Last time it was all sweet cranberry, but on this burn it was all about the pear. Scrummy and juicy and very nice indeed.
