MY YANKEE CANDLE DIARY : MOROCCAN ARGAN OIL, RED RASPBERRY, MOUNTAIN LAKE, SPICED ORANGE and more (w.e. 22 Feb)

Blissful Autumn started the week and after a poor showing on the previous burn, this time its full, lovely, creamy fruit aroma was all over the room. Do you think sometimes burns just don’t go well or that there are dry patches in your candle with little scent?!
Spiced Orange followed and we still need these winter warmers for the chilly nights. This deep scented rich orange is delightful.

New scent Red Raspberry was next and as pleasant as it is, I don’t think it is ever going to be a favourite. It’s a straight ahead, slightly tart Raspberry aroma. I wonder if we’d appreciate it more in warmer weather?

Finished a medium jar! I think that is the last of Mandarin Cranberry for this winter. Fortunately (or scarily, whichever way you look at it) we have more Mandarin Cranberry stashed away so it will be back in my diary for the autumn!

Black Cherry started the weekend, another (for me) warming, wintery fruit scent.

Lots of Island Guava melting going on over the weekend. It is a very pleasant scent that gives a tease at the warmer days around the corner.

My first ever burn of Moroccan Argan Oil on Saturday night. Wow – this is right up my street. It is rich, mysterious and transports you off to fantasy land in your head. Not the strongest scent, but it is a room changer. By that I mean you won’t be overpowered by the scent while you are in the same room but as you leave and return to the room, you’ll pick up the exotic atmosphere that Moroccan Argan Oil creates. I really love this one! Definitely went along with one of my favourite movies…

Then it was into the early hours with a Witches Brew votive. A must to go along with any horror film!

Early Sunrise kicked things off on Sunday while we had a little sunshine with its fresh, lemony morning feel.

The sunshine didn’t last long. The clouds rolled in and the heavens opened, so time for a ‘watery’ big gun candle! By that I mean one of the rarer atmospheric Yankee Candles that goes along with a rainy day. This time around it was Mountain Lake. A lovely, strong, watery aftershave type fragrance with a brooding dark grey wax colour.

And finally to wrap up the week. Nothing makes you appreciate the comfort of home like the cosetting vanilla fragrances from Yankee Candle. The deliciously strong Vanilla Cupcake is always welcome.
