MY YANKEE CANDLE DIARY : TROPICAL FRUIT, COUNTRY HEATHER, RED RASPBERRY, MIDNIGHT OASIS and more (w.e. 19 Apr)

Phew – what a scorcher! Not something I thought I’d be saying in mid April. The weather has been unseasonably warm – actually hot in a lot of parts of the UK. So with Easter and early spring but a distant memory, things are heading towards a decidedly early summer feel. So what about those Yankee Candles…

Well, accompanying us through the week were the delicious notes of Fruit Salad in melt form. This lovely fruity cocktail has a tang to it and it is always enjoyable for warmer weather.

Lovely Kiku was burned on Tuesday night. It has a very sweet powdery aroma and is nice on a spring evening.

Red Raspberry was next with its ever so slightly tart Raspberry aroma. A nice fruity treat!

Midnight Oasis followed and I just adore this scent. Its exotic, aftershavey aroma makes it like a softer version of Midsummer’s Night and it is wonderful to burn during the evening when it creates a great atmosphere.

The weekend kicked off on Friday with a first burn of Country Heather. This is a nice floral fragrance that I think suits all seasons (except perhaps winter). It has that lovely bright meadow feel to it that you get with Yankee’s Loves Me Loves Me Not. It kind of does capture the atmosphere of heather in the Scottish Highlands on a windy, aromatic day. A nice strong throw, what’s not to love?!

Tropical Fruit followed and it is another fruit medley, but it couldn’t be more different to Fruit Salad. Tropical Fruit has a smoother sweetness to it, delish!

Into Saturday and the sun was still shining, so the sparkly verbena notes of Island Spa were a lovely treat to start the day.

For the evening the wonderful tubereuse filled aroma of Plumeria was a treat.

Into Sunday with the lovely bittersweet Sicilian Lemon.

And a treat to close the day with a first burn of Coconut & Vanilla Bean. My wife absolutely raved about this one and adored it. For me it is very much like Black Coconut but perhaps with a smoother finish courtesy of the vanilla. Very enjoyable and good and strong!

And our TEAM YANKEE facebook group burn of the week, courtesy of Michael  is this lovely killer wax pool in new release Beach Holiday!
