MY YANKEE CANDLE WEEK : 3000 members, Yankee Outlets with burns of Stargazer Lily, Citrus Tango, Sicilian Orange and more (2 we 14/06)

This is a two week catch up as we were away for part of last week. Am I the only one who  kind of wishes away a holiday a bit, just in order to get back home to Yankee Candle scents?!

Anyway, rolling back a couple of weeks my wife melted a tart of Creamy Caramel a few times during a couple of chilly nights. Creamy Caramel is like Salted Caramel’s sweeter brother! It is just as strong so not for the feint hearted.

Berrylicious is getting harder to find after its limited release last year. It is absolutely delicious having the aroma of freshly sliced blueberry pie.

Wild Passion Fruit is always a favourite. A less sweet aroma than some of the other Yankee Candle fruit scents, it is nonetheless really lovely.

Honey Glow was released last summer and has a pleasant medium strength honey tinged perfume feel to it.

Camomile Tea is my favourite wake up fragrance I think. It’s like lightly slightly sweetened tea and is comforting and uplifting.

Pink Grapefruit is a perfect daytime fragrance and it has an authentic, slightly zingy pink grapefruit aroma.

Midnight Oasis is a light fragrance but it is one that changes the atmosphere of your room without you really noticing. Leave the room for a few minutes and come back in to an exotic world of decadent fragrance. In my imagination it whisks me off to hedonistic nights of the 1970s perhaps ; Saturday Night Fever or an outdoors Led Zeppelin concert – it has that aura of days gone by.

Lovely Kiku is always a cheerful, slightly sweet floral burn.

Sicilian Orange has the delicious aroma of freshly squeezed oranges. This was my first experience of the ‘World Journeys’ tumbler series just brought to the UK for the first time this year. My only complaint was that the scent throw was quite light.

Country Heather is a new favourite for us this year. Lovely and strong this brings to mind stepping into a bright floral garden on a windy day with the air full of sharp flowery scent.

A melt of Drift Away has been winning us over. It has a lovely detergenty freshness and it is a nice way of giving a fresh feel to any room.

Beach Flowers was the last burn before our short trip away to the coast and its lovely powdery fresh floral aroma really got us in the mood for some seaside atmosphere.

Back all too soon and an afternoon of heavy rain had just passed. The beautiful Meadow Showers was a great welcome home fragrance, capturing the atmosphere of the day.

Stargazer Lily followed and it is really lovely to have such a pleasant authentic lily aroma drifting around the house.

Next morning and it was off for our first proper visit to the Yankee Candle outlet at Swindon. Oh my, it is a Yankee Candle fan’s paradise! They had all sorts of unusual large jars including Pink Carnation, Tahitian Tiare Flower, Cotton Candy and Carrot Cake. We snapped up some rare Christmas fragrances at great prices. There was also a multitude of rare inexpensive melts and votives. I’d highly recommend a visit if you are passing, but the stock does vary quite rapidly, so it is always pot luck as to what you might find on any given day. The shop was of a decent size and the Yankee Candle staff were very professional, helpful and friendly. It is worth walking around the shop two or three times at least – we missed so much stuff on first look! Here’s me with some of my goodies..

Back home from shopping and the absolutely delicious fruit medley of Citrus Tango took us through the evening.

Sparkling Lemon gave a great fizzy uplift to Sunday morning. It was lit as a bit of a celebration as we hit 3000 members on our Team Yankee Facebook Group! We had some great fun on the group yesterday (and our members proclaim that we are the friendliest group in any category on Facebook, not just Yankee Candles!) with the extra news that the lovely Sarah and Zac now join Ann, Ben, Deborah and myself as admins of the group.

Lastly to close a bustling couple of weeks, the lovely more fruit than floral Pink Hibiscus.

More soon – thanks for reading!
