MY YANKEE CANDLE WEEK – BEACH HOLIDAY, WILD SEA GRASS, NAPA VALLEY SUN, EXOTIC BLOOM and more (w.e. 13 Jul)

I’m trying to burn through all my old votive candles before they lose their scent. As the wax isn’t sealed in airtight jars, the sampler candles tend to lose or taint their scent after a few years. My last votive of Sheer Gardenia was nice enough, but I still prefer its big sister White Gardenia!

A first burn of Wild Sea Grass was next and this one is quite different burning to how it smells cold. The harshness of the cold wax smell disappears and a lovely, quite subtle grassy aroma lingers in the air.

Black Plum Blossom was next and despite having one of Yankee’s most uninteresting jar labels, this candle has an awesome smell. It is barely floral, having the scent of full on ripening plums.

A first burn of Beach Holiday as well this week and this is a great scent for a summer’s day. Definitely takes you off to the beach with a seaspray feel to it and it reminds me somewhat of Yankee’s Storm Watch.

The divine Napa Valley Sun started my weekend with its creamy, sunny feel. Such a wondrous fragrance and one of Yankee’s very best. It definitely went with the parched, dry look of my garden!

Exotic Bloom was lovely too. A heady perfume indeed this one, really nice and strong.

Aloe Water again was a delight on Saturday morning.

This was followed by the berry floral mix of Beach Garden from the getting harder to find Beachside collection.

Frankincense’s authentic and exotic aroma was wonderful for the very warm evening.

Into Sunday and Beach Blue went along with the swathes of rain. Smells like the most amazing watery bath salts!

For a cooler evening on Sunday, the unique notes of Sage & Citrus. Such a heavenly fragrance this one and it has the feel of a high end cologne about it.

And last night was another cool night, so we had a tart of Creamy Caramel. The cosiness and autumnal feel of this scent really got me excited for my favourite time of year, September to December. Only a little while to wait now (and sorry to the summer fans)!

Back soon!
