MY YANKEE CANDLE WEEK : APPLE CIDER, SPICED ORANGE, FARMER’S MARKET, RED RASPBERRY and more (we 11 Oct)

Autumn is beginning to win the battle of the seasons even though it is still quite warm and dry. You can’t stop the nights drawing in!

I felt like a bit of a head cold was coming at the start of the week but the soothing  notes of French Lavender soon eased any symptoms. This was burning when I got home, my wife didn’t realise it has been retired now for about a year. I thought her burns of it were a bit cavalier!

Salted Caramel was next and I’m still finishing the remnants of a broken jar. Such a delightful, sweet yet strong autumnal scent.

Red Raspberry is uncomplicated, sweet raspberries – and sometimes that just hits the spot.

I really enjoyed one of my very favourites Evening Air this time around. Its delicious fresh aftershave-like blend is invigorating.

Farmer’s Market kicked off the weekend and this delicious medley of ripened fruit and light spices is perfect for October.

Aloe Water burned throughout the day on Saturday and it is a truly delightful fragrance.

Apple Cider got a debut burn on Saturday evening and its warm, sweet apple notes are lovely. This is more like a warm, sugary rich apple drink than cider but it is great for the time of year.

The lovely mixed fruit burst of Citrus Tango started Sunday. Not quite as sharp as you’d imagine and lovely and fruity sweet.

Finally to cosy up to on a cooler night, Spiced Orange got its first burn for a long time. It reminds me of a rich thick cut marmalade – a lovely homely fragrance.

…And just a few days now until the YANKEE-WEEN party at my house. Some great Yankee friends old and new are coming from TEAM YANKEE plus of course QVC Yankee stars Rosa Speyer and Steven Corfield. I hope it is a day to remember for everyone (for all the right reasons!). We’ve got nibbles, drinks, games and lots of spooky stuff planned. Really excited and it’ll be nice to share my obsession of Yankee Candles (and Halloween) with others for a few hours.
