EARLY AUTUMN FUN - MY YANKEE CANDLE DIARY (SEPTEMBER 2017)

Ahhh October! Glorious colour, darker evenings, proper weather and Halloween! My favourite month by miles, but I musn't get too carried away... I had a great Yankee Candle September. Here are my burn highlights and I hope you enjoy my comments. Thanks to everyone who writes in or contacts me via TEAM YANKEE on Facebook - it's so lovely to hear that my blog has inspired people to buy or burn certain scents. Enjoy the wonderful world of Yankee Candle!

SEPTEMBER'S STAR PERFORMER

Well, many people in the UK were blown away by the surprise return of the majority of the My Favorite Things range via home shopping channel QVC. I celebrated with a burn of my existing Brown Paper Packages. I had forgotten how truly wonderful this scent is. It filled my whole house from the conservatory. The scent is hard to describe but it is like a slightly sweet and spicy talcum powder.

I celebrated the start of September with Falling Leaves. One of the very few non core range Yankee Candles I really like. It's like a slightly spicy version of Nature's Paintbrush and it really captures the atmosphere of early autumn.

Lake Sunsets soft powdery notes have a fruity undertone. Great for a warmer evening.

A first ever burn for our oldest candle - Autumn Woods. This is a 2007 pour, so yes Yankee Candles (in a jar) do last! It smells nicer burning than on cold sniff. It has quite a subtle, perfumed, woodsy aroma - I think I need another burn to fully get to grips with it.

Ahh Frankincense. Such a lovely incense like aroma - welcome back!

There's nothing quite like Early Sunrise when those morning rays hit your house. I was pleased with this photo and also Early Sunrise's lemony notes.

And if it has rained out there's nothing quite like the dewy aroma of Meadow Showers.

Evening Air always jostles for my all time number one fragrance spot. An utterly divine aftershave type scent.

I've missed you Lemon Lavender. Such a revitalising and strong scent. A great wake you up, blow the cobwebs out aroma.

As the summer flowers hung on, Garden Time brings back memories of those longer days with its soft herby notes.

The lovely comforting notes of Lavender Vanilla make this the best evening lavender scent.

Sparkling Lemon is always a joy. You can really smell the fizz in this one, much more so than in Yankee's 'lemonade' labelled scents.

And another treat from my original My Favourite Things fragrances. The absolute snowy, fresh wonderment of Warm Woollen Mittens. Unusually for a laundry type scent, on burning this has a very complex blend of notes.

Pink Grapefruit has that lovely sweeter grapefruit tang. It's another great morning scent.

And the heavenly Blissful Autumn! This scent is autumn to me. Soft ripened fruits, a warm vanilla mixed in and just a touch of the outdoors in feel.

And still going in my 'use em up' section is the always wonderful Black Coconut.

Also being used up is another of my all time favourites, the decadent Midsummer's Night.

My all time top 10 fragrances keep coming. The spicy heaven of Vanilla Chai!

Autumn Night is such a peaceful kind of candle both in look and aroma. It has a wonderful soft yet beautiful aroma and reminds me very much of Van Cleef & Arpels' Midnight In Paris men's cologne.

And with October knocking on the door - it's pumpkin time! Spiced Pumpkin has spicy cinnamon and nutmeg blended in with the distinctive pumpkin aroma.

Definitely getting that warm me up feeling now - the stunning Cosy By The Fire. This one is such a comforting winter scent.

And last but definitely not least, possibly my favourite of the recent QVC pumpkin trio - Pumpkin Pie. A beautiful pumpkin aroma with soft baking notes blended in.

Thanks for reading and I'll be back soon. October is just so exciting Yankee Candle wise for me. It's a great month to catch up with old friends too - and I'll be seeing a few of you soon. Then it's Halloween! It's all too much, I need a lie down - see you soon!
