My Yankee Candle Winter Burn Diary (Jan-early Feb 2019)

Ahh, January... the blue month! Christmas is over, it's colder and just as dark and to cap it all I lost two weeks with a cold (I'm sure I'm far from the only one there!). For me January is the only month of the year without any real rhyme or reason Yankee Candle burn wise. Anything to keep warm is about it, as its too early to be optimistic for spring! Fortunately the weather kept us entertained with lashings of snow. And so onto this month's....

** STAR PERFORMER **

Bundle Up - in the snow - what could be better! This was the second snowfall of the year for us and by far the most substantial. A beautiful day with kids outside sledding and I just cosied up in the conservatory with this lovely clean, yet citrussy fragrance.

Back to early January and a real winter's favourite, the beautiful spicy apples of Macintosh Spice. First go with my new camera too, rather pleased with this photo.

Pink Lady Slipper was an early new year treat. This is surely one of Yankee Candle's most missed fragrances.

and our first jar of Frankincense has departed. This was its last burn. (Fortunately we have more!)

Catching a lot of people by surprise (me included), January 2019 was the debut of Yankee Candle's first ever scent of the year , One Together. I have burned it a couple of times and it has a beautiful spa like perfume to it.

The first smattering of snow this winter was celebrated with a dash of Sugared Apple!

Freezing and with a head cold but I could just about pick up the warming incense like Cosy By The Fire, possibly my favourite winter scent.

Sweet Orange Spice is one of the strongest Yankee Candle fragrances that I have ever experienced. In small doses it is fine but don't overdo it!

Vanilla Chai's spicy notes were a great pick me up while under the weather!

The first long rain shower for a good while and a great excuse to bring out the bold watery aftershave-like Mountain Lake.

Lots of cold icy movies for us during January. Scott Of The Antartic was one of the best and this was a great YC accompaniment.

Spiced Orange is always like welcoming back an old friend. A beautiful, rich, warming orange scent.

A few days before the Super Bowl and the first of my Americana scents. Quite light this time around and very similar to Sparkling Cinnamon.

And celebrating the great snowfall, a burn of the ever complex and beautiful Icicles!

Kitchen Spice is quite delightful. Similar in some ways to Sweet Orange Spice from the Elevation Collection, but I much prefer the blend in this classic scent.

Americana part two. Friday night music with City Lights! A lovely peppery aftershave scent.

The always bold Honey Clementine is lovely at this time of year.

Americana part 3 - the beautiful sugary apple aroma of God Bless America.

Warming butterscotch fun with Hot Buttered Rum!

A biting cold frosty morning for Americana part 4. Probably the lightest scent I own - Let Freedom Ring. It is beautiful, but even I must admit this one is just too light throw-wise.

A new favourite of mine is the sparkly grapefruit fizz of All Is Bright.

This scent was a strange one. Such an American style scent but it was only ever released in Europe! The subtle beauty of wood with a hint of spicy bourbon - beautiful!

And matchday! I was a day late watching but avoided the result (what little there was of it!) so the beautiful fresh, bright delight of Spirit of America with the Superbowl. Always a great way to kick of February!

Thanks for reading - see you soon!
