YANKEEWEEN 2019
What is Yankeeween? For the past 6 years I (along with my wife Debbie) have hosted an annual gathering of Yankee Candle fans and friends at our house. Our friendships go back to the days of Twitter and the subsequent formation of Team Yankee on Facebook.
Yankee is Yankee Candle of course which brought us all together initially and ween is Halloween which is a little obsession of ours (see video later in the article). We have a day of chat, quizzes, nibbles, drinks, more chat and some Yankee Candle burning too!
Guests started arriving early afternoon. Here’s Rosa from QVC right in the thick of things (this was Rosa’s 4th Yankeeween!)
Ian W loves Yankeeween so much he literally got the t-shirt!
Then it was quiz time. Ann held her very popular guess the fragrance competition while Andy had constructed a quiz which was shown on TV! Here’s Andy trying to remember the answers to his own quiz, while Austen looks on bemused..
A lovely shot of Rosa and Ian G in the middle of the quiz!
Lisa and Char wish everyone a Happy Halloween!
Here’s Ann’s quiz in full swing with Caroline, Matthew and Sarah sharing a laugh. A different melt in 8 numbered boxes…sniff and guess the fragrance. Easy….no it’s not! Also to note Nature’s Paintbrush burning which was a lovely burn for the autumnal day.
Another all action shot with Andy looking on…
Ladies of Yankeeween with a suitable Yankee Candle backdrop!
Matthew, Caroline and Marti in the midst of the tv quiz…
Cheers from Ian, Gareth and Marti!
Ann reads her quiz results!
We had some great prizes for the quiz thanks to one of our guests. Yankee Candle were also kind enough to support Yankeeween with a box of spooky tea lights for everyone and also some lovely ghostie votive holders. Thank you Yankee Candle!!
Here’s our two group shots with everyone who came – this was Yankeeween 2019!!
And getting near the end some late afternoon chat in the kitchen with Ann, Sarah, Debbie, Lisa, Char, Ian and Austen!
Yankeeween 2019 candle burns – we had on Nature’s Paintbrush, Apple Cider, Witches Brew (votive), Haunted Hayride (tea lights) and Tonka Bean & Pumpkin. New Elevation scent Tonka Bean & Pumpkin seemed an all round winner with its powerful throw!
And lastly it wouldn’t be Yankeeween without our Spookytown display. We have grown a huge Halloween model town which we set up cross two rooms. We then film the display and set to music. Here’s Spooky Town 2019, hope you enjoy it!

Thank you so much to everyone who came to Yankeeween 2019 and for making it such a super special occasion. We think every year gets better and better thanks to the people come. I do hope Yankee fans enjoyed my little snapshot into this special annual Yankee Candle fan gathering and I’m sure you were all with us in your imagination.
(Thanks to Ann for a couple of the photos).
