BURN REVIEW – FIRESIDE TREATS, BAHAMA BREEZE and more (with photos)

Welcome to my regular round up of thoughts on what I’ve been burning and I hope you enjoy the photos!

I started the week off with a melt of Dune Grass – a new one for me and although it’s similar to other grassy fragrances like Garden Hideaway and Loves Me Loves Me Not, there is a real zestiness and complexity in there that those others don’t have.

Followed this up with a burn of Loves Me Loves Me Not which is perfect for any spring or summer day. It’s refreshing and adds that carefree lazy feeling wherever you use it. First time ever using an illuma lid too. While they do look nice it is the anti-tunneling aspect that really appeals. And this one worked wonders on my Loves Me Loves Me Not!

Bahama Breeze is always a favourite. One of those pure indulgence fragrances that gives a touch of luxury. With Bahama Breeze it is thoughts of an exotic holiday location that comes to mind. Love it.

A friend picked up a bargain Fireside Treats and for the first time ever, I burned a candle on the same day I received it! This one may take a little getting used to for some and it’s one of those mood enhancer candles (in other words not overwhelmingly strong). However Fireside Treats definitely gives out the sweet smell of roasting marshmallows and it is quite delightful.

Black Coconut was our candle of choice for Saturday night. Even though the weather had turned balmy, it suited the mood. Another exotic luxury fragrance like Bahama Breeze it again calls to mind being in faraway places. I’m never going to forget how it brought the movie ‘Casablanca’ vividly to life. I felt like I was in Rick’s I tell you!

My melt (of a sampler) of Star Fruit And Orange woke me up on Sunday like a nice glass of refreshing orange juice and I followed this in the afternoon with a long burn of Beach Flowers. It is always a winner for summer days and its powdery notes never get tiring.

And finally Fresh Cut Roses closed the weekend. What surprises me with Fresh Cut Roses is that it is not as bold as you might expect. It smells really strong inside the jar and if it was that potent on burning it would probably be too much. Instead Fresh Cut Roses brings the delicate scent of Roses into your room to give you the feeling that you are standing right in the middle of a big rose garden.
