Heading
towards the weekend and I agree with Rosa (Yankee Candle Brand Ambassador) regarding
MIDNIGHT JASMINE being a perfect evening fragrance for the summer. Everyone I
know who smells this agrees and is whisked away to their own personal memories
of when they’ve encountered this scent or something very similar. It’s one of
the true Yankee classics.
The weekend morning pick me up candle was a votive of STAR FRUIT AND ORANGE. This one had to be converted into a melt though (see how here) as there wasn’t much scent coming from the votive. STAR FRUIT AND ORANGE is a very exotic orangey citrus that reminds me slightly of the smell of old school Orange Juice (remember ‘Just Juice’ or ‘Kia Ora’). That’s not a negative as it takes me back to memories of simpler times.
A bit of
smellscaping while watching the third Pirates Of The Caribbean movie was next.
A COASTAL WATERS votive came along for the ride and its bright watery scent was
the perfect accompaniment to the epic film.
Saturday
night’s treat was EVENING AIR. I was very lucky to get hold of this hard to
find candle recently and for me it gets top marks in every aspect. It looks
fabulous – a dark purply blue wax, it has a picture to die for and it is highly
perfumed (but not overpowering). EVENING AIR has a coolness to it but also a
real touch of luxury. I can only hope that it is brought back one day as this
is a real stunner!
Our lovely
BEACH WALK limited edition is still going strong and was perfect for a very hot
afternoon burn.
Finally, I closed the week with a long luxurious burn of BEACH SUN.
Another from the Beachside collection, BEACH SUN is probably the best of them all.
It’s dripping with the scent of sun
lotion and a day at the beach. Really creamy and very potent. The whole house
went Beachside!
