Yankee
Candle was back on television yesterday after what seemed like an age (it’s
only been a couple of weeks!) and it was great to see Rosa Smith, Yankee Candle
Brand Ambassador back on our screen again. Accompanying Rosa were QVC regulars
Craig Rowe for the afternoon show and Jill Franks for the evening.
Both were
fun, entertaining shows with Craig and Jill both fully in the spirit – and it
obviously helps with them both being Yankee Candle fans!
To get my
only gripe out of the way first – there were hardly any large jar selections
offered in the two hours (one only in fact!) and I know that it is the large
jar combos that get the Yankee Army particularly excited. Perhaps it’s a
seasonal thing with QVC thinking people want more tea light style combinations
in the summer. Anyway it’s a minor point – and on with the shows!
Craig and
Rosa kicked off with a ‘Give a Hoot’ special. An off the wall Yankee Candle
offering featuring a novelty three owl tea light holder set with no less than 6
boxes of tea lights.
The Give A Hoot collection .. available from QVC

The French
Lavender Fields collection was offered in both shows and Rosa pointed out the
delights of the French Lavender fragrance which has ‘the boldness of hot summers in Southern
France’.
Other
highlights included the offering of Yankee Candle Room Sprays which supposedly
give exactly the same fragrance as the candles and 2 flute holders with a
sampler (votive) selection.
Also in the
afternoon show a great suggestion from Yankee Army member Colin
(yankeecandleboy to his friends) who came up with the idea of an QVC Yankee
Candle all day broadcast with both Rosa and Steven. Sounds fab to me, Craig
seemed enthused… and with a Yankee Army live audience too? Over to you QVC….
On to the
evening show and you are always sure of a riotous time with Jill Franks at the
helm. She’s always honest with her opinions on the different Yankee scents
which is refreshing to see – there’s no way we can love all of them and Jill
brought this to life as there were some that were obviously not to her personal
taste!
Rosa was
melting early doors, but a blast of Air Conditioning into the studio and off we
went…
The USA
exclusive Lavender was brought to screen and Rosa explained that it was a
fresher Lavender than the French Lavender that was to appear later in the
programme. Jill needed some convincing though but was converted eventually!
Get 'em while you can... exclusively available through QVC in the UK
The popular
electric warmer with 18 melts was once again featured as was a new product
featuring 2 bottle shaped tea light holders with 48 tea lights – a definite
summer treat.
The day’s
sole large jar selection was the ‘Night Glow’ combination of two jars of
Midnight Jasmine with one of Midsummer’s Night. Rosa mentioned how Midnight
Jasmine evokes thoughts of stepping off the plane at a holiday location and the
heady jasmine fragrance hitting you. She said it brings back memories of
carefree times and is a good pre and post holiday pick me up – extending the
feel of your holiday. She also pointed out that Midsummer’s Night is a
perfect refreshing fragrance that will
seem to cool you off on these hot sticky nights
So lots of
fun with the two shows and plenty of shout outs for the Yankee Army
(particularly in the first show) and we don’t have long to wait to get our next
Yankee TV fix. Back on QVC for 3 shows on Wednesday (17th) at 11am,
4pm and 9pm with Steven Corfield as expert in residence.
