BURN REVIEW – TROPICAL FRUIT, PINK LADY SLIPPER and more! (with photos)

Another warm week and although I’m still enjoying the summer scents and candles, a little bit of me is excited about a change in mood and weather and the fragrances that will go with it.

I’m not too much of an experimenter in that regard, usually burning candles that match the season and using fragrances that enhance the atmosphere. Ideally it has to be raining for Coastal Waters or River Valley for example!

Anyway, Garden Hideaway kicked things off last week and I’m always pleasantly surprised how strong and evocative this fragrance is. Don’t forget it is now retired as well, so when it disappears … it disappears for good!

A few drinks and a sumptuous evening in with the delightful Fruit Fusion was next. Always brings a good time atmosphere with its bright, almost fizzy orange and mixed fruit flavour.

First burn for a retired fragrance on Friday night. Tropical Fruit is a lovely concoction, not that dissimilar to Fruit Salad although a tad sweeter. It is rich, deep and delicious.

Following the using a a wax melt recently, we have fallen in love with Pink Lady Slipper. So much so,  that as it has retired, we’ve bought two large jars. First burn was on Saturday night and I’m pleased to report that it is just as strong and bright as the melt fragrance. One of those Yankee Candles that stands alone from all the others. The scent is completely unique, very perfumed – and an absolute delight!

Lemon Lavender was the candle of choice to pick me up on the weekend mornings and its lemony yet floral smell makes it by far my favourite among the Fresh ‘cleaning’ type fragrances (i.e Clean Cotton, Fluffy Towels and others).

Finally, finished off the weekend trying out a Spiced Orange melt. It was lovely but can be a bit overpowering and rich.

More soon!
