YANKEE CANDLE ON QVC – TV SHOW REVIEW 11th August

After a  few weeks away, it was great to have Yankee Candle back on TV at QVC with a late night broadcast featuring Jill Franks and Yankee Candle Brand Ambassador Rosa Smith.

The show brought a lot of the recent popular offerings back to screen with a few new products as well - something for everyone and as usual with Jill and Rosa paired together, a fun time was assured!

Kicking off with a ‘one time only’ special offer of a multi votive holder with 20 Yankee samplers was great and I was glad to hear Rosa’s a bit of a traditionalist like me in that she’d burn all the same fragrance in the different holders (none of this mixology lark!!). Rosa noted she’s less than two months away from her wedding (how exciting!) and that if she hadn’t sorted her table displays already – this product would have been a great option.

The USA imported Lavender jars were brought to screen again and Rosa noted the difference over the more widely available French Lavender fragrance with this being more ‘herbal and green’ which gives it a bracing feel.

Two large jars with a wick trimmer was the cue for much hilarity as Jill went into overdrive about how she had used scissors to trim the wicks on her candles to this point. She seemed genuinely impressed and I must admit a wick trimmer is now on my shopping list to replace the nail clippers I use (I know, I know….). The jars in the collection were Midnight Jasmine and White Gardenia, the latter of which Rosa noted was ‘gentle, soft and feminine’ and reminiscent of Parisian chic. I like it!

A new selection of 6 small treasure jars featured the recently retired Coastal Waters and Garden Hideaway, along with Loves Me Loves Me Not. Rosa alluded to the spring like feel of these scents with Garden Hideaway being like dew collecting on the grass with the scent of spring flowers around and she noted Coastal Waters was like like a bright, fresh walk along the beach.

The descriptions of the scents are particularly useful, so I always try to include a few in the write ups on here. Not just because it is not always easy for everyone to get to a shop that sells Yankee Candle (so you need good descriptions if buying blind via QVC or other internet shops), but also because Rosa and Steven Corfield have sold me on many of the scents – thanks to their evocative descriptions and stories! Hence the proverb … a lovely turn of phrase can leave you lighter in the pocket! Only kidding – and I hope I come up with a few tempting descriptions in my blogs as well!! We all love Yankee…

Anyway back to the show and the popular collection of 4 fresh medium jars was on offer featuring Soft Blanket, Clean Cotton , Fluffy Towels and Baby Powder. Rosa noted these were for any room, any time and all year. I get more tempted by these personally untried fragrances as time goes on.

A collection of 2 floral large jars was also available featuring the lovely Lilac Blossoms and also Midnight Jasmine. Rosa noted that Midnight Jasmine is *that* holiday fragrance. It reminds you of European and North African holidays and is perfect for this time of year with its hot, balmy nights.

On that delicious note I had to head to slumberland, but the good news is that Rosa is back this Wednesday 14th at 3pm for another 1 hour show. See you then!
