Wow, Autumn
arrived with a bang last week. Quickly dropping temperatures, lashings of rain
and near gale force winds. Time to dust off some appropriate candles!
Sage and
Citrus continues to grow on me. It is a completely unique fragrance in the
Yankee Candle range and I hope it is brought back one day. The fragrance from a
melt continues to delight. It’s creamy yet tart and also highly perfumed.
Finally, a
votive that has a strong fragrance! From the off Nature’s Paintbrush gives off
a wonderful autumnal fresh smell. Again very perfumed but with a sparkling
freshness that helps you drift off to a walk through a windswept forest,
kicking leaves as you go.
To warm your
cockles on a colder night, Vanilla Satin gives that touch of luxury as well as
a rich creamy warmth. I haven’t burned this for some time and it is like being
enveloped in comfort.
The rain was
pouring on Friday, tons and tons of it. Finally I had the excuse for a first
burn of River Valley. Perhaps not as strong as some of the other watery
fragrances, River Valley though is bright and fresh and with that distinctive water
element that Yankee Candle does so well. As the rain thundered down its notes
were a delight to the olfactory senses!
Saturday
morning needed a bit of cheering up so the delicate honey tinged glow of
Camomile Tea suited.
The
afternoon was blowy and cool so for the first time in many months Blissful Autumn
was burned. I love this candle, it is vanilla tinged but with rich fruity
undertones and the wax colour and image are to die for. I hope you like the
seasonal photo!
First burn
for Ocean Blossom on Saturday evening. It is a light floral that gives a taste
of watery freshness but with the scent of gentle white flowers. Lovely!
Into Sunday
and after melting Early Sunrise to go with the bright morning, Tropical Fruit
was used to warm the afternoon. Though its picture evokes thoughts of the
Caribbean and a luxury fruit basket, Tropical Fruit has a very rich, ripened
fruit scent. Therefore it was a great accompaniment to a warmish, yet autumnal
afternoon.
Finally on
Sunday night, time to revisit Halloween favourite Candy Corn. Lots more on this
October favourite soon!
