BURN REVIEW – FRENCH LAVENDER, RED VELVET, MOUNTAIN LODGE and more (with new photos)

As regular readers know, my Yankee Candle burning habits are determined by the weather and the seasons and this past week presented a real mixed bag. Rain petering out leading into a warm and stuffy weekend, but of course the nights are starting to draw in. So lots of choice and lots of pleasure with my Yankee Candles!

Starting the week with a bit of luxury, it was time for a final melt of Sage and Citrus. Absolutely love this creamy yet bright fragrance and so pleased I managed to find a large jar. Bring it back please Yankee Candle!

My favoured votive of the week also has a luxurious touch about it in Mountain Lodge. Another creamy fragrance with a light perfume which evokes thoughts of a luxury hotel in the middle of a forest or mountain range. It is another hard to find but divine fragrance.

Spiced Orange is a bit of a throwback fragrance so it worked really well with a home cinema watch of the lavish Les Miserables film.

First large jar of the week was a slow burn of Fireside Treats. This fragrance straddles the seasons beautifully with its sweet marshmallowy scent underpinned by a hint of smokiness. It’s a lovely one and the highlight of the Yankee Candle summer release for me.

Fresh Cut Roses brought its lovely touch to a warmer afternoon. The roses in my garden are still blooming and this candle brings back memories of our glorious summer.

Turquoise Sky took me into Friday evening. It is unique among the watery type Yankee Candle fragrances having that splash of zest about it. It looks and smells lovely and suited a warmer evening. It reminded me of strolling along a warm Mediterranean seafront at night.

A melt of Early Sunrise started the weekend mornings and then into French Lavender which again is a scent that happily bridges the seasons with its rich Lavender flavour. It is delicious and the strong fragrance lingered on my conservatory well into the evening.

Finally, wrapping up the weekend with a real touch of class was the warming sweet tones of Red Velvet. One to always bring a smile and lift the spirits while enveloping you with its deep vanilla and chocolaty scent.
