BURN REVIEW – MIDNIGHT OASIS, BEACH ESCAPE, MANGO PEACH SALSA and more (with photos!)

Ahh, it’s my favourite part of the week. Wittering on about what Yankee Candles I’ve been burning, I love doing this, I really do!

So it was a holiday Monday in England and the day before our trip trip away. We got up early to get our bodies and minds in synch for a very early start the next day. It felt like the right time to have a first burn of something extra special. ‘The’ perfect early morning candle, Early Sunrise! It’s absolutely lovely. A light lemony freshness that almost borders the clean fresh range (Clean Cotton, Fluffy Towels etc) but in my opinion, it is a cut above those. I really hope this one comes back one day so others can enjoy it.

What better to get ready for a beach holiday (weather dependant!) than with a farewell burn of Beach Sun in the evening. It’s the perfect embodiment of a sunny day at the beach – a creamy blend that brings every suncream and aftersun you have ever used back to life!

The holiday was over all too quickly, but there was some exciting stuff to come back to – the best of which was the QVC TSV delivery. Well, Midnight Oasis was out of the box and burning that very evening. It’s a hard one to describe. Exotic, perfumed – delightful! If you can imagine a blend of Evening Air and Turquoise Sky it is probably not a million miles away.

The weekend arrived with a lovely burn of Beach Escape to bring back memories of our recent time at the seaside. A beautiful candle that along with the likes of Sun And Sand, totally captures the feeling of being on a sandy beach. It actually smells of sand .. how do Yankee Candle do it?!

We treated ourselves to Mango Peach Salsa on Saturday night. It’s lovely soft fruit tones hide a hint of luxury underneath.

Into Sunday and a long farewell burn to my Star Fruit and Orange votive which I’d turned into a melt to get better fragrance. It filled the room for the last time and it definitely has that beautiful orange scent mixed with a Caribbean twist.

A sunny afternoon on the conservatory and perhaps a final burn for the Melon and Lime Cool Pops for the summer. This candle seems to be lasting ages and the scent is delicious, fruity and ice creamy.

Finally to close the week, a burn of Vanilla Lime. An absolute stone cold Yankee Candle classic and one that stands alone with no other fragrance like it. Luxurious, yet sharp and fruity – I love it more and more with each use.
