I did a blog entry in the very early days about how enjoying
Yankee Candles was an inexpensive hobby and I thought it was time I did a
slight revisit.
Having over the past few months witnessed the joy of many
others in sharing pictures of their collections or of their latest purchases
via Twitter, it really doesn’t matter whether you have spent a pound or two on
some new tarts or splashed out and have bought yourself some large jars –
whatever your budget you can get to experience the joy of the yankee candle
scents and for just a few pence per hour.
The myth – and still quite openly discussed on a number of
forums is that Yankee Candle is “too expensive, can’t afford it, never spend
that much on a candle” – I’m sure you know the score and will have read
similar. I probably used to think that way as well, until I saw the light (or
candlelight).
It was only when I worked it out when getting into Yankee
Candles that I realised that there probably aren’t many less expensive ways of
spending your time – honestly!
You can have a whole night’s entertainment and enjoyment
from a Yankee Candle for about 50p, pretty much regardless of which form of
candle you use. Let me know any other pastime or indulgence that comes that
inexpensively!!
Whether it be a 4 hour melt of a tart (about 60p), a similar
of a votive (about 45p), or a large jar (about 50p) – that’s less than a
chocolate bar from a corner shop, and that pleasure is gone in a few seconds!!
The buy in price suits every pocket too. It is as a little as £1.25 for a tart which gives
at least 8 hours of very strong fragrance. In fact in some ways you get the
best hit of yankee scent in any format from a tart.
The ‘knee trembler’ for most people (and for me in the past
I had to admit) was the large jars at around £20 each. It was only when you
work this to a per burn cost of 50p that you see the tremendous value for such
a luxurious and quality product as Yankee Candle! You should get between 40 and
50 burns out of a large jar at 3-4 hours use per time – that is a heck of a lot
of value, these things are huge!
The other great thing about Yankee Candle and it being for
everyone is the joy of sharing. It is oh so hard to part with them as gifts, but the sheer
pleasure of introducing someone to the delight of Yankee Candle is more than
worth the pain of losing one! Quite a few people I know have got into Yankee
Candle this year, from a young girl of about 12 who now has a growing
collection of small jars, to the other extreme of the conversion of QVC
presenter Jackie Kabler a couple of weeks ago on Yankee Candle TSV day - live
on television! Jackie tweeted me that she had indeed bought 6 Yankee Candles
since – having had no interest in them at all prior to the TV shows in August.
So, help spread the word. Christmas is the ideal time – why not
pop a votive or melt or two in someone’s Christmas present this year – or if
you feel very brave, part with a jar. Let’s continue to grow the Yankee Army
and spread the word about how fantastic and different these amazing candles
are!
