It’s worth a quick write up of yesterday’s TV show as it is
the last Yankee Candle show on home shopping channel QVC for a little while.
Brand Ambassador Steven Corfield was the expert in residence
along with QVC host Simon Biagi.
This one off show was part of a celebratory day on QVC to
celebrate their 20th birthday date and there were some specials on
show.
The highlight was a one time only featuring 2 large jars
with a decorative shade. 400 of these sets sold in just 10 minutes! The two
jars were Sparkling Lemon, described by Steven as ‘Effervescent, like a Sherbet
Lemon. With notes of orange citrus to give it a burst of flavour’ and Pineapple
Cilantro. Full on pineapple but with ‘Cilantro which gives a little bit of heat
and also some green notes’.
Steven pointed out that you can use these bright fragrances
all year round. "When it’s dark and cold outside – make it summer inside!”
Other highlights included the full set of new autumn scent
tea lights and a set of 20 assorted autumn melts.
The three new autumn large jars are always worth a mention,
especially at QVC’s great price – and Steven gave some timely reminders about
why this new Yankee Candle release is so good.
Vanilla Chai he noted has a peppered feel and takes you on a
journey while Lake Sunset he said had quite a feminine feel to it. Steven was
reminded of a recent visit to his sister-in-law’s where he gave her Lake Sunset
as a gift (Steven is a better man than us – he can manage to part with Yankee
Candles as gifts!) and she burned it straight away. Now Lake Sunset takes him
straight back to that happy family visit. Lastly Salted Caramel was mentioned
as being good enough to eat!
One other real highlight was a new for 2013 Yankee Candle
electric melt warmer with a selection of 18 melts of Camomile Tea, Honey and Spice and Red
Berry and Cedar.
So that’s it for a while for Yankee Candles on QVC – but when
they do come back I just have an inkling it might be with a real treat....
