Yankee Candles On QVC TV - Review 5th November 2013

Remember, remember, Yankee Candles in November!

There were three live TV shows yesterday with Yankee Candle Brand Ambassador Rosa Speyer being special guest for the day.

We had a terrific morning show co-hosted by Miceal Murphy, an afternoon slot with Alison Keenan and a late night rendezvous with the inimitable Craig Rowe!

Miceal kicked off the morning show by congratulating Rosa on her recent nuptials and he gave a glance at one of her wedding photos and also the special, personalised Wedding Day Candles that Yankee Candle had made for Rosa and Ed!

Onto business and a jam packed show featured lots of Yankee Candle goodies.

Highlights included some ‘Warm Glow’ votive holders with 12 votive candles.  Rosa stated that the scents were chosen to give a warm feeling to the now colder, darker nights. Spiced Orange, Salted Caramel, Fireside Treats (perfect for bonfire night) and Black Cherry - ‘a luxurious, sumptuous, regal evening fragrance.’

A set of 3 coconut numeric tumblers were also featured during the day and Rosa highlighted that the 3,4 and 5 numbers meant that these were the strongest in the limited edition range (numbered from 1-5).

2 large jar customer festive favourites featured Snow In Love and Sparkling Cinnamon. Of Snow In Love, Rosa said that it called to mind romantic walks in the snow and that it was both piney and floral with a real freshness.

A highlight was some seasonal votive holders with Red Apple Wreath as the included scent. Miceal said that it reminded him of an American holiday years ago and of having sliced apples in a log cabin.

Miceal also was officially was king of the day for shout outs to yankee army viewers. It would be easier to note who he didn’t mention but Ann (melting Blissful Autumn), Rachel, Rebecca, Diane, CJ, Ben and Jill were some who got a name check. Also nice to see Julie T’s small jar collection on TV!

I missed virtually all of the afternoon show (thanks national rail!) but did catch the tail end when Rosa was introducing the new Winter (Christmas) large jars. Of the three new fragrances she reminisced that Christmas Memories took her right back to Granny Smith’s and memories of making Christmas pudding with its scent of baking. For Snowflake Cookie she mentioned it bering a gentle, sweet, sugary, feminine fragrance (that undoubtedly goes along with its visual) and for Merry Marshmallow she highlighted the warming, comforting notes of marshmallow and it perhaps being a candle for those who may find vanilla too sweet.

Racing ahead to the late show and no chance of dozing of with Craig and Rosa together! Particularly with a great one time only offer featuring two ‘dear santa’ votive holders with 4 fragrances.

Over to Rosa once again :Vanilla Satin – Lovely, evening, bedroom fragrance. A touch of Hollywood luxury! Spiced Orange – Noted its orange and cloves with added zest. Home Sweet Home – Noted the cinnamon and biscuity flavour and how it is perfect for autumn and winter, with that obligatory cup of Tea! (ahh..Tetley … other brands are available..)
Finally with Christmas Eve, Craig mentioned how it just encapsulates that expectation of Christmas.

Another highlight was some beautiful snowflake votive holders which Rosa pointed out could be used through and after Christmas due to their more classic wintery feel. The fragrances were Snow In Love and Season of Peace.

I must cover the latter as the last of the new Christmas fragrances. Craig said that it was very grounding and made him feel serene and earlier in the day Rosa pointed out its white musk notes took her back to wearing that kind of perfume. She also noted the peppermint mid notes and that it gave a feeling of ‘walking in the snow when the ground was untouched and no one else was outside’. Lovely!

Another fab set of shows and fret ye not, Yankee Candles are back on QVC very soon!
