CHRISTMAS BURN REVIEW – PINECONE AND LIME, WINTER WONDERLAND, APPLE AND PINE NEEDLE + more!

It’s that time of year now where there is never *not* a Yankee Candle on at home. The house has really come to life with all of the wonderful seasonal yankee scents along with the decorations and trimmings of Christmas!

And last weekend started my Christmas Yankee Candle planner too – and I’ve  only missed out on one so far !

Starting the week was my first ever burn of Holiday Home Sweet Home as a votive. The scent is absolutely the same as Home Sweet Home but there is a slight festive twist added.

Mixing this with a Peppermint Swirls tart the next day was an added bonus. Yes, the previously disappointing Peppermint Swirls came to life a bit. Sometimes it is easier to appreciate scents once you know what you are looking for in terms of notes. Peppermint Swirls is very light with a slight mint twist.

Peppermint Swirls on the go in a lovely Yankee tart burner!

Winter Wonderland though wasn’t shy at all. Immediately jumping into our list of favourites, it was absolutely delightful. A delicate mix of soft mint and all things Christmas, I’m glad we stocked up while it was still around!

And then it was into my Yankee Candle planner. 3 candles per day
for every day of my Christmas holidays! So on Friday…

Cherries On Snow – what a lovely morning choice this was. It is freshness mixed with an almost glace cherry flavour.

Macintosh Spice – Its beautiful spicy apple never gets boring and is always warming.

Mandarin Cranberry – One I like more and more. Rich, warming and with an elegant bouquet. In your mind it’s like walking into a country pub with a roaring fire in the middle of winter, with mulled wine on the boil and fragrant fruity wreaths on display.

Into Saturday…

Christmas Rose – Another lovely morning choice and so nice to have a floral at this time of year. I’m not sure what a Christmas Rose smells like, but this elegant floral gave a real fresh flowery feeling to the house.

Red Apple Wreath – This was a break from the plan as I’d recently used Cinnamon Stick! Red Apple Wreath in tea light form gives a lovely light hint as to the delights you’d get from a large jar. Soft, warming apple and I mixed it with… Merry Marshmallow. Fast becoming a favourite, even the votives of Merry Marshmallow are strong. Full on wintery sweetness.

Pinecone And Lime – I was looking forward to this, my wife not so much. To both of our delight this candle had a really strong aroma. Full on pineyness shot through with a sharp burst of citrus. Really impressed!

Into Sunday …

Christmas Wreath – I had to burn this in private as my wife hates it. She says it smells of something offensive… and not the first one to say it either (look it up!!). However I love it. It is quiet for a long time and then you pick up occasional shots of pure fresh Christmas boughs.

Sparkling Cinnamon – Always an afternoon treat as darkness rolls in. This sugary sweet cinnamon is delicious.

Apple And Pine Needle – One of my very favourites ever. This is Christmas. The strongest pine notes you will get from a candle make your whole house smell of Christmas Trees. It’s like you’ve just brought a massive freshly cut tree into the house. The apple is hard to detect but who cares! This is without doubt the strongest scented Christmas Yankee Candle you can buy. Full on Christmas!
