Well it wasn’t
billed as such, but it certainly felt like it. Two Yankee Candle shows with
Steven Corfield on Saturday followed by two more with Rosa Speyer on Sunday –
it was Yankee fans’ heaven! And ably
supporting were QVC hosts Julia Roberts,
Catherine Huntley, Jill Franks and Dale Franklin.
There was a
big promotion this weekend for the auto delivery of the current and forthcoming UK
scents for the year – and why not, they look fab! The current floral range will
be followed for the summer by a more fruity selection and then into Indian Summer
for the autumn, before an extra tasty festive selection for Christmas.
You can
still join the auto delivery at QVC and start with the amazing new floral trio! Order HERE.
Jill Franks
was particularly taken with the autumn selection during her show with Rosa
(leaving the shelves bare for the camera at one point!) and I must admit it
seems to be this selection that has most fans excited. Steven gave an early tease
of Wild Fig noting the fig flavour was ‘sweet with sugar on’.
We got a
good look at the new Christmas trio and eagle eyed Yankee Candle experts will
note a slight design change for the UK release of Icicles from the retired US
version. We have our lovely bird of winter the Robin in place of the American
Red Cardinal which of course makes sense for the European market!
The new version of Icicles...
Steven again
gave a tease on Icicles stating it packed a punch and that it was like ice on
the green of Eucalyptus and that it was also quite heady.
For Candy
Cane Lane, Steven noted it was like peppermint cream sweets and he mentioned Angel’s
Wings had notes of cedarwood and vanilla. Rosa added on Sunday that Angel’s
Wings had jasmine and musk and that it had a sugary feel.
You can read
the official Yankee Candle descriptions for the autumn and winter releases HERE
and HERE and for the summer release HERE.
Another
highlight was Steven giving a great insight into some of the hidden
notes in Black Cherry during the promotion of a lovely collection featuring
this fragrance. He pointed out that it had marzipan and amaretto in the
fragrance and it certainly had us searching for these in our jar after the
show!
I had to
fizzle out halfway through the last show co-hosted by Rosa and Dale Franklin.
As ever it was probably the most interactive with the Yankee fans watching and
oh, it looks like Ben is finally going to get his signed photo of Dale! Great
to see Dale discovering Summer Scoop for the first time too.
A fab
weekend treat and Yankee Candles are back on with Steven Corfield on 3rd
March at 3 and 11pm. See you there!
