Spring is definitely
tapping at the window and thank goodness the wildest of the storms have now
gone (hopefully for good). The only downer is that we haven’t had any cold
weather all winter in the UK, I can never remember a whole winter with only 1
or 2 frosts on the ground. So, Yankee Candles like Season Of Peace and
Sparkling Snow are going to be hidden away for some other time I think!
On to last
week and with the slightly longer daylight hours, some of the more spring and
summer like candles are coming into play. It had been a long time since I’d
used Turquoise Sky and it is still delightful. A sharp, watery smell which
brings to mind an exotic seaside location.
Blissful
Autumn is great anytime of year and I always love its creamy, ripened fruit
notes.
A little
treat with a votive of Sheer Gardenia. This fragrance isn’t as zesty as White
Gardenia and it smells like a greener version of the floral if that makes
sense.
Pink
Dragonfruit is always fun – watch out for a special feature on this scent very
soon!
Black Cherry
has become a firm favourite. Not just deep black cherry scent but also subtle
notes of marzipan and amaretto (thanks Mr. Corfield!)
My wife
insisted on Golden Sands for Saturday night for a first ever burn – and it
lived up to its reputation. It’s like a warm breeze in a sandy location.
Reminds me of the old Fry’s Turkish Delight adverts – full of Eastern promise!
Will be a must use this summer I think. Oh and I know this scent has a bit of a
reputation for tunnelling, but on first use, ours was as good as… well, gold!
Continuing
the warmer feel on Sunday morning with Island Spa which is like a watery, fresh
version of Sparkling Lemon. Absolutely love it.
Finally
snuggled up warm to close the weekend in the luxurious, enveloping folds of the
recently returned Vanilla Satin.
