MY YANKEE CANDLE DIARY : UNDER THE PALMS, VANILLA SATIN, KITCHEN SPICE & more! w/e 2nd Feb 2014

Isn’t this just the dullest time of year? All of the fun of the festive season is but a distant memory and spring is still somewhere  over the horizon. We can look forward to holidays and dreams of summer,  but we’re stuck in the doldrums of January! But it isn’t particularly cold and…  wait we’re falling into February..  spring maybe isn’t so far away after all! So my Yankee Candle burns tend to be as all over the place as the weather and time of year.

I started the week with today’s featured Yankee Candle Blissful Autumn. As we move down the jar of this the throw seems to be getting lighter. When you do get a hit of its creamy vanilla covered fruit it is truly delicious.

A Sparkling Cinnamon votive brought back a hint of the festive season past before moving on to Kitchen Spice. This fragrance is unique in that it really does blend sweet cooking spices into a unique aroma. It’s slightly tangy with just a touch of sweetness and Kitchen Spice is quite a unique one in the Yankee Candle range.

On to the luxury of Vanilla Satin. It just makes you feel a million dollars whenever you are wrapped in its warm vanilla comfort. Recently reintroduced to the Yankee Candle range, it is sure again to become a fan favourite.

Honeydew Melon accompanied a rare burst of sunshine Saturday morning. It’s a pure, fresh melon and perfect for early mornings.

Black Cherry continues to delight. The unique almost sugared cherry flavour has an extra tang to it, so it feels both warm and envigorating.

A treat on Saturday night with a first burn for the new limited edition release, Under The Palms. Definitely coconut flavoured but it is a more pure coconut than the Black Coconut fragrance. The scent is of young, perhaps under ripe coconut mixed with a sharp, bright fresh leaf tinge. Definitely looking forward to this one in the summer!

Into Sunday and the slightly sweet and sour deliciousness of Sicilian Lemon kicked off the day.

For the afternoon and early evening, the creamy yet zesty Vanilla Lime is always a welcome choice. It both brightens and adds a feeling of sophistication to your room.

And finally, to finish off and to accompany me through the night and into the early hours with the US Superbowl was Salted Caramel. A perfect scent of Americana!
