You’ve just
got into Yankee Candles and want to buy some more, but now what? It can be
quite daunting and confusing especially if you jump on to social media to see
what’s what.
I remember
just a year ago as I was really taking interest for the first time, there
seemed to be so many Yankee Candles available but I couldn’t make out what or
why certain ones were available in some places but not others.
So here’s a
little beginners guide which hopefully will make sense to you!
The main
Yankee Candle range of scents is usually around 70 available at any one time in
the UK and Europe. This means the ‘housewarmer’ range which means the fragrance
is available in large, medium and small jars as well as samplers (votives),
tarts (wax melts) and tea lights.
Most stores
and online retailers will stock some or all of the 70 fragrances.
However each
quarter, Yankee Candle will bring out between 3 and 5 new fragrances to the
main range. For example at the start of 2014 Yankee Candle have added Pink
Hibiscus, Lovely Kiku, Champaca Blossom, Under The Palms and Midnight Oasis.
Further
releases are scheduled approximately 3 months apart throughout the year.
However the
range is always kept at around 70 available fragrances, so in order to make way
for the new ones Yankee Candle have to retire some of the older ones. For
example Sun and Sand, Beach Walk, Macintosh Spice, Red Velvet and others were
retired last year but you may still see them in shops for a limited time. But
they have definitely been retired from the main line of available fragrances so
they soon will disappear for good!
In addition
to the 70 fragrances always available in the UK and Europe, Yankee Candle USA
also release fragrances. Sometimes these are the same but often they bring out
different scents which may or may not ever get officially released in the UK. I’m
not sure of the total available number in the USA range at any one time but it’s
a lot more than 70!
Yankee
Candle fans love to get hold of these USA fragrances and sometimes they are
available to buy via the Official Yankee Candle website as ‘Special Appearances’
LINK HERE . In addition home shopping TV channel often brings over USA fragrances
and sells them via their tv broadcasts and on the website. It’s likely you’ll
only get these USA fragrances in one or two forms (ie large jars).
So, I hope
that makes some sense as to the wide variety of Yankee Candles you might hear
about and some of the confusing terminology used by fans!
Oh and in
addition to all this, Yankee Candle bring out other special ranges and
fragrances that are not part of the usual housewarmer range! Such as the ‘Dream
Garden’ collection, being released for the spring and summer…
