LET’S GET MACHO! ANDY’S GUIDE TO YANKEE CANDLE MAN CANDLES

With the release in the USA of two additional candles to the Man Candle range, I thought it was time for a little retrospective look at what has appeared so far and what they are all about.

I suppose Man Candles are designed to appeal to men who would normally shy away from scented candles (ahh, they don’t know what they’re missing) but they are really for everyone.

The thing I have found enticing and appealing about this range is that Yankee Candle have really pushed the boat out with them. By that I mean a lot of the candles in the main range are safe bets in that they are tweaks on existing themes – you might get a new floral, or a new fruit twist or a few different notes in a fresh fragrance. Fab as the new creations are and obviously designed to appeal to the big market – Man Candles break the mould (well, almost!)

Yankee Candle chandlers must have had an absolute blast concocting this range. Anything goes as long as it’s masculine!

I think the first ever Man Candle was 2X4

I’ve only sniffed it once and it wasn’t for me. A heady aroma of sawdust and woodchip!

Man Town

Not sniffed this one, but it is reportedly like a very masculine aftershave. I do regret not picking it up when it was widely available!

First Down

I adore this one and I’ve covered it many times in my Yankee diary. It’s full on polished leather, slighltly sweetened.

Riding Mower

Again only sniffed this one once but it was a full on mown grass scent. A bit too heady for me!

After a gap of a few months two more candles appeared in the USA...

Movie Night

Supposedly just like a bucket of popcorn!

 MMM, Bacon!

I don’t ever want to go near this one!

And in the spring of 2014 two new Man Candles have appeared in the USA, no details as yet as to what anyone thinks of them!
