First candle
of the week was a Cinnamon and Sugar tart for probably the coldest night. Lovely warm,
brown sugar tones with just a dash of cinnamon make this a lovely soothing
fragrance.
Smellscaping
along with TV series Lost on Wednesday with a melt of Dune Grass. For me
Dune Grass is the best grassy scent that I’ve experienced from Yankee Candle.
You can just picture yourself in the dunes or on the island in Lost!
Home Sweet
Home is always a relaxing treat and its warming spices definitely match the
sentiment of the name!
Into Friday
and a first burn for Pink Hibiscus. This new release for the spring smells
pretty much as it does in the jar. It’s obviously a floral but it has a very
sweet and almost fruity tinge to it. Very pleasant.
I finished a
Sheer Gardenia votive on Saturday. I must admit I do prefer the readily
available White Gardenia, but Sheer Gardenia is still very nice.
Wild Passion
Fruit was the evening burn and I always find this fragrance enjoyable. Yes,
it is sweet and limey, but I can also pick up a slightly spiced, almost peppery
note in the fragrance.
Into Sunday
and my first ever use of Clean Cotton (as a votive). I’m not a mad fan of the
laundry type fragrances but pleasingly Clean Cotton (at least as a votive) was
quite light. Definitely, still not for me though!
I followed
this with a first use of Sweet Pink from the new ‘Dream Garden’ collection. It
is exactly what its name says it is, almost like a pink marshmallow. I couldn’t
get much if any floral notes from it, but it is very sweet … and very pink!
Off to the
jungle for a classic movie with a
Mountain Pine tart in the late afternoon. Again it suited the mood perfectly.
Adding a scent to match a film really is a great experience.
Finally we
wrapped the week up with the classic Midnight Jasmine. A perfect burn for a
slightly warmer night, its unique jasmine floral blend was as stunning as ever.
