YANKEE ARMY
FAN FOCUS
PHIL
@ChefPhil24
Welcome to
the latest Yankee Army fan focus where we take a look at one of the passionate
Yankee Candle fans in a little more depth. This time around it is the king of
wax pools – Phil!
Please tell
us a bit about you?
My name is Phil
and I am a chef and baker. I live in Derbyshire (moved up from Wales) and my
interests are photography, cooking and Yankee Candle collecting.
How did your
Yankee Candle obsession start and when?
My obsession
started last year with 1 large jar I had for Xmas from my mum. It
was a Honeydew Melon one. I did have some previous ones which I just burned,
but this was my first USA one. I then looked
into the American ones and the collection went from there. I’ve nearly got all the
man candle collection and the next one to go for will be the My Favourite
Things collection.
Can you tell
us a bit about your collection?
My
collection consists of (at the moment) - 90 large jars , 25 medium jars , 20
small jars and lots of melts and
votives. The Yankee Candle accessories I have got are a chef melt warmer, a man
candle holder,an ants picnic jar topper and lots of illuma lids - my favourite
one is the American flag one :)
Are you a
collector, a burner or both?
I collect
and burn, but have to buy in twos if there’s one you want to burn. Cannot burn
the rare ones :)
Careful sniffing those ones up top Phil!!
..and why Phil is king of wax pools
What is your
favourite Yankee and why?
My favourite
candle at the moment probably would be A Child's Wish or Cherry Blossom. I have
a lot of jars of different scents on the go at the moment as I change every day.
If you could
suggest one unmade scent to Yankee what would it be?
A freshly
baked bread scent would be nice for a morning candle.
Which Yankee
Candle do you wish was brought out of retirement?
Man Town - it
took me many months to get this one and on cold smell, it seems very nice. But I haven't got another so cannot burn it!
What was the
last candle you bought/ were given?
The last
candle I bought was French Lavender. I
like to light this in the evening as it is very calming.
Thanks Phil!
