MY YANKEE CANDLE DIARY : MIDNIGHT OASIS, TRUE ROSE, AMBER MOON, PINK SANDS and more (w.e 31st August)

I’m not going to talk about the weather this week. You can guess it each day by the candles I picked!

Bank Holiday Monday in the UK kicked off with River Valley. This one I’ve liked more and more over time. It brings to mind stepping outside into a fresh rain shower. A beautiful and atmospheric scent.

I followed this with Mountain Lodge and a bit of James Bond! My usual preferred accompaniment to Bond is First Down, but I went with Mountain Lodge this time as it is quite similar. Atmospheric and luxurious it smells like a million dollar hotel should!

To wrap up the last day of a holiday weekend, the lovely Stars & Stripes. This fresh, invigorating sweet cinnamon scent is very comforting.

Back to the working week and a melt of Apple Cider warmed things up a little bit. I like my Yankee Candle apple fragrances to have a bit of something about them and Apple Cider is one of those with a lovely, warming feel about it.

Lovely Wild Passion Fruit was next. I always smell something different in this every time I use it. A favourite in our house.

A Thursday night treat was Midnight Oasis. This one can get lost in a busy environment as it is quite light, so it needs to burn somewhere that it can create its exotic, rich atmosphere.

A touch of class for Friday night with the ever elegant True Rose. If you want ‘chic’ in a candle fragrance – this is it!

Turquoise Sky started the day on Saturday with its lovely refreshing notes.

Waikiki Melon followed, another exotic fruit favourite.

A burst of a Drift Away melt in the afternoon, was followed by Amber Moon in the evening. My first burn of this new fragrance it doesn’t seem to have much about it on cold smell. But light the candle – and wow, it is a lovely fantasy blend of exotic perfumes and the amber content is noticeable. Very nice.

Sicilian Lemon, another of the lighter scents kicked off Sunday and it took a couple of hours to make itself felt. When it does permeate the room though, it is a bitter lemony bliss!

Paradise Spice followed in the late afternoon with its lovely, spicy banana aroma.

And on Sunday evening it was time for escapist perfection with the ever dreamy Pink Sands (and a rare glimpse at the discontinued image - better than its replacement in my opinion!)

This week’s guest photograph from our Team Yankee Global Facebook group comes from Stephanie, taken while she was burning Granny Smith. A lovely picture - thanks Stephanie!
