Something
rather amazing happened yesterday.
In my two
years or so of being a Yankee Candle fan I have found out that the majority of people who
love Yankee Candles are great people. And there’s something about our little
hobby that brings people together in a rather unique way.
Yesterday
was a prime example and probably one of the most surprising and wholly
enjoyable days I can remember since becoming involved with the world of social
media and Yankee Candle.
Ben, one of
the admins on our ever so friendly Facebook Group – Team Yankee Global, came up
with the idea of an ‘anicandle’ day. It sounded mad – but his idea was for
Yankee Candle lovers to send in a photo of their pet with a Yankee Candle in
the photo too. If you didn’t have a pet a stuffed toy would do, so no one would
feel left out. (anicandle – get it now?!)
I think Ben
thought as I did and the rest of our members that we’d get a few great photos
of people’s pets with Yankee Candles and it would be a bit of fun. But, wow –
it was so much more than that. I think we had a global Yankee Candle phenomenon
yesterday! Dozens and dozens and dozens of photos were sent in during the day
from all over the world. We had tons of cats and dogs as you might expect, some really heart warming images and unusual photos were sent in of other animals.
A few
selected ones are published below to demonstrate some of the fun that was had.
Thank you to
everyone at Team Yankee Global for joining in such a memorable and wholly
enjoyable day – you really are a great bunch of people and Yankee Candle lovers
really do love their pets too!
First pic is
from Beckeh – and this budgie is obviously remembering the lovely summer we
had.
Next from
Becky is Jack the snail. A bit of a story to tell with this one as shortly
after this photo was taken, Becky showed us a picture of the jar of Cranberry
Pear broken! It wasn’t Jack’s fault I’m sure but Becky said it was a choice
between Jack and the jar – and fortunately Jack lives on to tell the tale!
And Mark
from Germany’s pet Milu shows us that perhaps it’s a cat’s life after all…
Lou’s
special pet hedgehog (yes I didn’t know that you could get special breeds of
hedgehogs that you could keep as pets either!) Miss Henley gets to grips with
Lou’s collection….
Agnes got
into the spirit with her stuffed elephant who she said was wishing he was Under
The Palms!
Kamini’s cat
Miss Woo – gives us a nice little Halloween shot, but ahh she’s just too cute
for Halloween isn’t she?
Quite
possibly the most unusual photo of all came from John – he said his chickens
weren’t too impressed and they went into a bit of a strop afterwards!
Rachel’s
lovely fishy picture is pretty and colourful … and a touch seasonal.
Laura’s
pooch is just tooooo sweet....
Another
unusual one with Michelle’s pet Dexter the Gecko!
And last but
not least, all the way from the USA, Shawn’s dog is looking forward to the
festive season.
Thank you
from Ben, Ann and myself for each and every photo that you posted on our group.
There are dozens more on there so please take a look : Team Yankee Global –Yankee Candle Fan Appreciation Group.
Ben says –
see you next year for more ‘anicandle’ fun!
