Another
mixed bag of a week or so for me. Just when I should have been going great guns
with all my Christmas Yankee Candle scents – another bashing of a heavy cold on
top of the departing flu I had had for about 6 weeks or so! So while not at my
scent smelling best, was I going to let it dampen my Christmas Yankee Candle
spirit? No! (Well only a little bit).
I’ve really
enjoyed Christmas Eve in the build up to Christmas this year. After this burn
though it will go away until 24th December itself.
A Mulling
Spices tart was next and this unusual spicy tart is heavy on the spice and
lighter on the fruit touch. Think I need to give it another go to fully get to
grips with it.
Into the
burn plan and I could just about detect Cinnamon Stick through my depleted sense
of smell. It is the purest cinnamon I think that Yankee Candle do and so true
to life – just like smelling a bunch of cinnamon sticks!
Christmas
Cookie followed and I couldn’t pick this up at all – woe is me!
Mandarin
Cranberry again I had to use my imagination on as my senses wouldn’t play ball.
Into
Saturday and the head cleared a touch and good job too as it was a real treat
with first ever burn of Warm Woollen Mittens. What a delightful fragrance – it
really brings to the imagination going out wearing fresh clothes on a snowy
day.
The lovely
rich spicy apple of Macintosh Spice followed into the afternoon.
And
(drumroll) the exciting debut of Hot Buttered Rum was next. Really love this –
totally reminds me of Rum and Raisin ice cream.
Sunday
morning saw the first burn of the season of Christmas Rose. It is a very
unusual fresh floral and brings to mind winter flowering plants in the cold
weather.
The
lusciousness of Red Apple Wreath followed with Peter Pan! From what is
currently available in the European Yankee Candle range this is closest to
Christmas in a jar. It has everything -
warmed fruit, a hint of spice and the freshness of maple.
Spiced
Orange made a welcome return in the evening but my smell sense was going AWOL again!
Monday night
saw a lovely sweet burn of Cranberry Pear. Definitely much heavier on the
cranberry, this new limited edition scent is very festive.
And last night
I had another go with Christmas Cookie. This time I really enjoyed its vanilla
rich biscuity aroma.
Back with
more soon!
