MY YANKEE CANDLE DIARY : CHRISTMAS GARLAND, PINECONE & LIME, SEASON OF PEACE & more plus Team Yankee Secret Santa!!

On we go towards Christmas with probably my last post of the year!

All your Christmas shopping done? Work finished for the holiday season?

Kick back and relax as I take you through some Christmas Yankee Candle burning from the last few days!

My first day off for the Christmas break started in line with my Christmas Burn Planner (Videos Here) and a first go at Christmas Garland. A pleasant enough scent of Christmas type firs and woods, but not as good as the much missed Christmas Tree.

A Sugared Apple votive followed and unusually this was quite light! Into the night with the delightful Happy Christmas. From its festive picture onwards this one will melt the hardest ‘bah humbug’ heart! Happy Christmas is a blend of lovely sugary Christmas sweets and bright festive Christmas green notes.

Friday morning and my first ever Yankee Candle Christmas Fir which is still going. To me this long retired fragrance is the most authentic real Christmas Tree scent.

A votive of Candy Cane Lane followed and it had a pleasant seasonal minty sharpness.

Sparkling Snow strangely doesn’t have much of the atmosphere of snow or ice about it, but its scent is lovely and a mixture of all of the Christmas greens.

For the Friday evening the lovely notes of Welcome Christmas which is in fact very close to the Happy Christmas scent. I’m not complaining as I love it!

A long day out Saturday so we started and finished with the sharp green scent of Christmas Wreath. This one has the atmosphere of freshly cut young boughs.

Into Sunday morning and the lovely Peppermint Swirls (which it has to be said is very similar to Candy Cane Lane).

Christmas Tree followed. It is so homely and comforting. Not as sharp as the scent of a real Christmas Tree but like a smooth, slightly sweetened version.

After Christmas Carols, Season of Peace suited the mood. A quite light scent it was fairly hard to pick up but when we did, the lovely musk aroma was delightful.

Monday morning started with a melt of Silver Bells. Tarts don’t keep well and this only had a ghost of its supposed true aroma. Nice colour though!!

The delectable Cherries On Snow followed. Such a sweet treat, like glacé iced cherries!

For the night of the 22nd it was Red Berry & Cedar. This may now be my all time number 1 Christmas fragrance. It has everything Christmas about it, absolutely adore it.

And this morning I’ve started with Pinecone & Lime which is a delicious festive treat for a Christmassy morning. The pine is offset by the lovely tangy sweetness of lime.

So just a day and a half to go until Christmas and I’ll wrap those burns up in my first diary of the New Year.

Before I go, Sunday was the first ever Team Yankee Secret Santa day! A spin of an idea launched by Marc last year among Twitter Yankee Candle fans, this year the idea spread to Facebook with around 60 people taking part, plus for the first time ever it launched in America with the help of one of our admins Deborah.

You can catch up with all of the fun on our Facebook page and there is a photo album on the group of all the secret santa exchanges. For the uninitiated the idea is to send a mystery person two tarts for them to open just before Christmas – and you receive two in return from someone else!

Thanks to Marc and Deborah for organising (with more than a little assistance from the lovely Ann) and such a lovely idea full of festive spirit.

I received a couple of lovely tarts of Sun & Sand and Christmas Memories. I’ve been dying to try the latter and the former is one of my all time favourite retired fragrances that I’ve struggled to find a back up of all year! What a lovely secret santa I had!

Here are a few pics to share a little of the joy.

Here’s what Karen got

And Rachel was pleased to get these…

Lastly Rosanda from the USA got these from the American Team Yankee Secret Santa…

And … that’s it. A very Merry Christmas to you and all your families! Thank you so much for your continued interest in my blog all year and thanks to those of you who have joined us so far at Team Yankee on Facebook. Peace and love for 2015 x
