Hi Team
Yankee! Well, even the party hardiest of
us all is surely past all the Christmas and New Year festivities and it is time
to settle into the strange month that is January. I struggled with which Yankee
Candles to burn this time last year and I’m having the same issues this year.
Autumn and
Christmas are gone, it’s not really cold enough (or had enough – delete as
appropriate) for winter and spring is but a dream on the distant horizon.
Let’s start then
with this week’s guest photo from our fab Facebook Group – Team Yankee Global.
Adriana shared with us this lovely photograph of Apple Cider.
Winding back
to Friday 2nd January and I burned Lemon Lavender that day. I’d argue there isn’t
a better scent to bring in the new or to refresh your environment.
Saturday 3rd
saw the delicious warming notes of Amber Moon.
Accompanying
the Team Yankee first Sunday of the month group burn was Midnight Jasmine. I
can enjoy this Yankee floral classic all year round.
I had
trouble with my Mountain Lodge again and it took about 9 hours to get it to
pool and that was with the help of about 3 inserted matches (don’t ask – but I
will talk about it on our Facebook group!). The wick is really useless in this
candle.
On to Monday
5th and another all year burner Midsummer’s Night. This heady men’s aftershave
fragrance is so reminiscent of Drakkar Noir. I love the candle so much I’ve now
bought two bottles of Drakkar Noir – so I can smell like Midsummer’s Night
whenever I want!
My last day
off work was Tuesday 6th and I started the day with Nature’s Paintbrush. It was
a day of all weathers and this suited perfectly. This scent really captures the
atmosphere of a blustery day.
For the
evening we switched to the classic homely notes of Vanilla Cupcake.
Wednesday
saw a winter warmer in Mandarin Cranberry – a scent that always goes well into
the period beyond Christmas.
Thursday saw
the deliciousness of Vanilla Chai while we watched epic classic movie The
Towering Inferno. The vanilla gives the spicy flavour a real touch of elegance.
Into Friday
evening and the lovely fruity cakeiness of Berrylicious started the weekend.
Saturday,
after a long trip out we needed a treat, so a rare run out for Tutti Frutti. A
lovely aroma just like a bag of gooey chewy sweets!
Sunday saw
the wonderful all year classic True Rose start the day.
This was
followed by Silver Birch. It is another nice aftershave type fragrance with
definite pine notes.
For the
evening and to close the week, what better than the sumptuousness of Red
Velvet.
I think for
the rest of January and February I’m going to make a list of scents that I’d
like to burn again before spring. That should at least help some of my
indecision!
