OUT OF AFRICA - YANKEE CANDLE'S NEWEST RELEASE REVIEWED!

Madagascan Orchid, Kilimanjaro Stars, Serengeti Sunset and Egyptian Musk – the names alone conjure up visions of exotic adventures – the flora, fauna, history and landscape of the African continent all spring to mind.

Yankee Candle’s newest release of fragrances (available in stores and on line now) promised to be something special …and I think they are!

As you would expect from Yankee Candle, the jars are a work of art in themselves. The labels and stunning wax colours hint at the exciting travels within – but of course it is all about the special ‘true to life’ scents that are Yankee Candle’s trademark.

Let’s start with Madagascan Orchid.

Intense and intriguing… The exotic perfume of this rare orchid holds an irresistable allure.
This is an unusual and pleasant floral with a unique twist. It has a perfumed note and is possibly honey or slightly fruit infused.  I found it quite strong once it got going, it has a touch of sweetness  and if you like a perfumed deep floral, this may be for you.

Egyptian Musk

A prized treasure… A captivating musk with hints of vanilla bean and cedarwood.
Egyptian musk is delightful. You can almost imagine walking across the sands to the pyramids – the musk is exotic and it has a real air of mystery to it. The underlying notes in the candle give Egyptian Musk a warmth and depth. Very atmospheric, this one is a real fantasy scent that will whisk you off to the land of the Pharoahs in your imagination!

Serengeti Sunset

The enticing blend of fruit, citrus, lotus flower and amber celebrates the haunting beauty of the African sky.

Burning Serengeti Sunset is a lovely experience. Surprisingly fruity and orangey, it also has a warmth about it that reminds you of the sun on a summer’s evening. With this scent you can imagine being on safari and perhaps putting your feet up for the evening on the verandah outside your cabin while sipping an orange flavoured cocktail.

Kilimanjaro Stars

(pictured inside a 'hurricane' style container)

Like nightfall on the ice covered peak, crisp, clear mountain air is laced with cool mint and earthy patchouli.

Last but not least is probably my favourite of the new fragrances, Kilimanjaro Stars. It has the feel of being out in the open air on a warm night, perhaps by water while you gaze up at the sky. Like a lovely cooling aftershave, Kilimanjaro Stars has that mixture of perfume with a bright freshness. Invigorating and stylish, this scent will make your home feel extra luxurious and it is perfect for a cosy evening in.

The Out Of Africa range is available now from Yankee Candle’s website in large, medium and small jars as well as in tea light, sampler candle and melt form. (Click on the link for full details and pricing)
