Yankee Candle kindly invited me along to a recent trade show to take a first look (and sniff!) at what's to come in the first half of 2020 - and to share the news to hopefully get people as excited as I am!
Here's the January Garden Hideaway collection (more detail below) with some of the forthcoming accessories.
Before we start properly though, how about some extra Christmas treats?
I'm so pleased to report that following customer feedback Yankee Candle have brought back some of the more decorative accessories for this Christmas in the UK and Europe. There are jar holders, tea light burners and a great illuma lid. And who doesn't love the Christmas doggie?!
Also for this Christmas, Yankee Candle are releasing this lovely festive pillar design (in 3 sizes and scents - Balsam Fir, Red Apple Wreath and Christmas Cookie).
But what I really wanted to point my nose towards was the brand new scents for 2020 and it was so exciting to get a first sniff of the Garden Hideaway collection!
I'll do a further sniff summary on my 2020 release page which I will update soon! Sunny Daydream has such a great label and wax colour and Camelia Blossom is a good, clean floral which reminded me of the style of previous gardenia and jasmine scents from Yankee.
The good news is that we are getting five (yes 5) new core scents in each of the first two collections of 2020 that make up the whole Garden Hideaway collection.
These are the other three for January - Roseberry Sorbet is a definite twist on the previous Raspberry Sorbet scent and it reminded me a little of Cherry Lemonade too. Talking of lemonade - Homemade Herb Lemonade is just stunning, you will love it! Possibly my favourite on first try though is the subtle and beautiful green and grassy Afternoon Escape.
Elevation is back too in 2020 and we start in January with Rice Milk & Honey and the quite stunning Salt Mist Peony.
Here's a peek at some of the gift sets that will be released in early 2020...
A nice new jar holder too - added to the Savoy accessory range..
On to Easter and Sweet Bunny Treats is full of vanilla sugary goodness, while Chocolate Eggs is for those that like heady chocolate scents. Cute labels!
Also coming in 2020 is a unique new car product - a car powered fragrance diffuser! These plug straight into your car's power outlet and give up to 60 days of fragrance.
I couldn't resist having a look at the WoodWick 2020 releases while I was there. I'm really warming to the range. There's something about the look and sound of those crackling wicks and the scents are excellent. Some exciting fragrances for 2020 include Hemp & Ivy (January) - a green, earthy delight and Blue Java Banana definitely brought back memories of Yankee Candle's much missed Bahama Breeze. Look out for more coverage of WoodWick on my blog and YouTube channel in coming months!
Back to Yankee Candle and on to summer 2020! Starting with Elevation and Kumquat & Orange and Sea Salt & Lavender both bring something new to the range - I enjoyed the first sniff of these.
Water Garden is a reimagining of the Yankee Candle classic. I was dubious about this until I smelled it - and wow, the classic water garden is still there but with some added mystery. I look forward to exploring this one more and it's my favourite jar label of 2020 so far! Calamansi Cocktail wasn't what I expected which is a good thing and last but not least Sweet Honeycomb has a really rich almost 'crunch' to it.
Thanks to Yankee Candle for inviting me to take a tour around what is coming soon and I hope you enjoyed my hands-on preview!
