It was great
to see Yankee Candle Brand Ambassador Steven Corfield back for two TV shows
last Friday as he hadn’t been on screen for a while.
The first
show was co-presented by Miceal Murphy and his easy going style always makes the
shows he hosts a pleasant watch.
It was
straight in with a brand new offering – 3 new Artisan Jars for the autumn
season. The Artisan jars are a limited edition ‘one off’ fragrance blend only available
usually in the USA and rarely in the UK. Designed with a simplistic look, the
intent is to present them at a great price so that people will be tempted to
try out Yankee Candles – and then of course find out how great they are!
Needless to say, seasoned Yankee Candle fans won’t be disappointed with
Artisans fragrance wise as the blends are just as sophisticated as the usual YC range.
The autumn
offering contains 3 new large jars – Falling Leaves, Autumn Celebration and
Cider.
Steven
Corfield as ever gave a great insight into these 3 new one off fragrances :
Falling
Leaves – has an outdoor earthiness and brings to mind an early morning autumnal
walk with the smell of nature around you.
Autumn
Celebration – This reminded Steven of the smells of autumnal baking he
experienced as a child and the scent took him right back to that time.
Cider – again
this took Steven straight back to Central Park in New York and walking around
with a cup of hot apple cider, with gentle warming notes of Cinnamon and
Nutmeg.
700 of these
Artisan sets sold during the show – so a very popular item with QVC viewers and
another 250 sold in the first half an hour of the evening show.
And still
available at the great price from QVC at time of writing!
Also on
offer was the cool calm bucket holders with samplers collection. A lovely
looking item as you can see from the photo and all the samplers are the lush
Midnight Jasmine fragrance.
An autumn
sampler and tea light collection was offered featuring the new Yankee Candle Q3
fragrances and it gave Steven a chance to talk about these new scents. Lake
Sunset he described as capturing the atmosphere of dusk on a warm day (more on this
in my burn review tomorrow!) and he mentioned how it was very fruity yet with
woody musk underneath the main scent. The spicy Vanilla Chai is included in
this set which Steven noted as creating an atmosphere – and Salted Caramel also
features in the set.
Lots of other great stuff was shown and some nice
shoutouts for the Yankee Army. Miceal mentioned that Tanya’s first Yankee
Candle experience was with Christmas Tree and how it always reminds her of
Christmas together with the family. And Marc also got a shoutout having just
made his own candle scent using the mixing facility available at the Yankee
Candle factory in the USA!
One great
quote from Steven was “I’ve been so obsessed with these candles – it’s untrue”.
I think many of us know the feeling!
Onto the
late evening show and Jill Franks was co-hosting this one.
It was
straight in with a one time only special offer of the three Tea Party large
jars at a special low price. The set features Camomile Tea, Honey and Spice and
Red Velvet. Steven noted that Camomile Tea had a honey feel with light spices
and hints of Lemon, while he described his favourite Red Velvet as being like a
decadent vanilla cupcake with chocolate and buttercream. Honey and Spice was
also mentioned as being warm and comforting. The OTO sold out quickly in the
show but this set is still available on the QVC waitlist.
A colour
burst shade with a Pink Dragonfruit jar sold really quickly as did a collection
that featured 20 rare melts. Oh my, did I really see – Jack Frost, Pomegranate
Cider, Evening Air, Mountain Pine, Christmas Bayberry, Mulled Wine and others –
blink and you missed it!
We also saw
the Hurricane Vase with large Warm Spice jar, an electric warmer with melts and
lots more.
Two great
shows and it was another exciting Yankee Candle day on QVC.
Rosa Smith
is back on the 14th and 1pm and 11pm and Steven returns on 26th
at 11am, 5pm and 10pm – so lots to look forward too, make sure you tune in!
