WEEKLY BURN REVIEW – ORCHARD PEAR, CAMOMILE TEA, APPLE CIDER and more.

I started last week by finishing off a Spiced Orange tart. Although it was very strong on first use, it got to more manageable levels on subsequent use. The colder nights experienced earlier in the week were warmed by this lovely, deep orange fragrance.

We were showing off our Spooky Town to a friend on Tuesday (oh alright, here’s my video of our set up!) and Candy Corn filled the air. Candy Corn is Halloween and autumn fun fairs in a jar.

Then – Hello! Indian summer time again. Rising temperatures and warmer evenings returned midweek and so far are still here. A good all-weather candle is Sandalwood Vanilla. Absolutely love it. It has the tangy tones of sandalwood warmed with creamy vanilla to give a rich, exotic fragrance.

First ever burn on Friday night was Orchard Pear which didn’t disappoint at all. It’s a rich, deep fragrance that really suits autumnal nights.

A freshening of the house on Saturday morning with an Early Sunrise tart was followed by an afternoon burn of Loves Me, Loves Me Not. Although we’d packed this one away (the summer candles are off to another room!) we brought it back out and what a good decision it was. This fragrance actually works all year around. The dewy, grassy smell is like walking through a meadow at any time of year.

Blissful Autumn was a happy compromise on Saturday night. I wanted spicy with possibly some fruit and my wife wanted full on vanilla – Blissful Autumn has the lot!

Sunday morning was a more leisurely affair and quite bright. The elegance of Camomile Tea suits a long, lazy morning with its sweet, warming honey drizzled tones.

Into the afternoon and the heavens opened. Thunder, lightning and a really fresh rain. River Valley suited the mood perfectly. It might not be as bold as some of the other watery, perfumed type fragrances but its clean notes definitely add to the ambience of a heavy rain shower, refreshing your garden and starting anew.

And lastly another warming treat on Sunday night with an Apple Cider tart. Absolutely delicious, its warm apple notes filled the room with a perfect fruity richness that is just right for October.
